The Negativity of Our Fans

Sorry, but you can't be a football fan and not be a critic, even if a constructive one.  With every win or loss, there are areas where we can improve.  4-0 is fantastic for us as we have been a traditionally slow starting team.  Combine this with the loss of KB, Luke Cotch, CJ etc and you couldn't ask for more.

But, there are still many areas that need cleaning up if we are going to be competitive with some of the better teams in the league.

For instance, i think Cam had one of his better games today, not statistically, but managing a game in bad weather conditions, etc.

The defense had some highlights but let a terrible QB pass for 300 and a RB get an easy 100.

So, many areas where we need to continue to improve.

Being negative shields you from being let down. If things go wrong, you can pay yourself on the back and say "see, I told you so". If things go right, you get to be "pleasantly surprised" and enjoy it all anyway. The trick is you always have to be negative, never showing signs of hope. Otherwise, you might be disappointed, and some people just can't handle that.

Pessimism is for the weak.

Most likely, every fan base has negative fans, ignorant (of basic football) fans, and blind homer fans.  Just comes with the territory.

I pretty much didn't even post in the game day thread today, and probably won't anymore this season.  Too much asshattery with every dropped pass, missed tackle, etc.  As has been said, the obligatory Shula slams have out stayed their welcome, but, it is all some have got, and they want to be heard for some reason

Im sure everyone's is happy we are 4 and 0 but its delusional to think we dont need alot of work.  Theres alot of postives but overall we been playing sloppy as a whole team , we should of won this game by more.  I still believe we are alot better than how we played. There is also big problems with our offense we cant run the ball and passing is limited to ginn and olsen , cam also is the whole offense hes puttinh the team on his back . Defense id like to see more of bene and boston, im also not worried about defense because it will be fine when Luke gets back. Big positives today in norman and the new defensive end we got dailmere (how ever you spell it) 4and 0 great start to the season I just hope we get better

Okay, I don't make threads ever. However, we just got our best win of the season, and I have seen more negative posts today than I have seen in a long time. Our defense got 5 turnovers, but according to some of the people on here we have to get  better to beat other teams. Yes, we don't have the flashy big time players on offense. Injuries happen, but winning organizations find ways to win. It doesn't have to be pretty, but I love how they grind it out and finish games. 3-4 years ago we couldn't finish any games. It just blows my mind and pisses me off that there is so much doom and gloom on this board after we just became 4-0 heading into a bye week where we will a lot of our guys healthy. No team is easy to beat in the NFL. Every team is loaded with talent. We don't have the offense that Atlanta has, but that's okay. We win them by playing Panthers football. Bye keep pounding.

In conclusion, if you want to be a negative pouty face, I suggest you take yourself somewhere else. I believe in my team, and so should you. Goodfreakingnight

Agreed.  I may have to stay out of game threads after the bye for a while.  The whining is god awful.

People were saying the Cardinals were the best undefeated team last week.  Can't say that this week.  They lost a game they were supposed to win, to the Rams, who had lost a game to the Redskins, a game they were also supposed to win.  People take the "supposed to" wins for granted.

Absolutely. And I've seen a lot of sloppy play around the league. It's not like we are the only team that sometimes win ugly.

Maybe we aren't as pretty as the Pats right now, but our wins count just as much as theirs.

Supposed to win? Those same Rams beat the Seahawks. They played a divisional game, a team they know well and Todd got his first start. I wouldn't use them as an example, but I get the point

But some panthers fans seem to confuse "negativity" with "reality". Realty is we are 4-0, reality is we've also beaten bad teams. I've witnessed a lot of posters have faith until these losses came in and chaos started and this place became ghost town.

I think we all recognize that we could be better and that we expect more out of some units.

However, the fact the some of us aren't satisfied with a 4-0 start is a testimony to the team Gettleman has built.

No it isn't. It's a testament that some posters will always be whiny bitches.

Is this how the whiners in the game day threads justify their awful posts rather than being embarrassed by them after we win? (I'm not saying you are one of them, I know better than to go into the game threads.)

just sayin' some peoples negativity distorts their version of "reality."
