What do you think of bandwagon fans?

As a fanbase that hasn't had the amount of success as others, we've always been the first ones to make fun of the 2012th Man, the Saints fans that don't remember anything before Drew Brees, the Patriots fans that don't remember anything before Tom Brady, etc. However, I know you have noticed people on Facebook that have never said one positive thing in their lives about the Panthers suddenly pounding their chests about how There's Nothing Finer Than to Be in Carolina For the 6-0 Panthers. The same people that you remember taking selfies in their Jets jerseys a few years ago or the ones with Steelers flags on their trucks. I know you've seen the amount of people rocking Panthers gear WAY up all over Charlotte. I've heard secondhand about how our bandwagon is growing nationwide too, not just in the Carolinas.

What do you honestly think about these people? Good thing or bad thing?

I love seeing Panthers love like I haven't seen since 2003. It's cool that everyone else is into what you've always been into, you know? At the same time, it's...not. When I was a sophomore in high school still wearing my Panthers shirt to school in December 2001 and being made fun of because of it..............I don't know, *I* have paid my dues as a Panthers fan since Year 1, not these people that jump on now that we're thinking Super Bowl.

I have to admit I think the bandwagon fans annoy me more than they excite me. Am I being petty? Can anyone relate?

I'm like the anti bandwagon fan lol, I actually became a fan at the end of 2010-2011 right at the start of the Rivera/Cam rebuild.. I always really passively followed the Panthers here and there and might casually watched a game here and there, but getting the 1st overall pick really piqued my interest and that's when my fandom really escalated from casually following the team here and there to now, constantly posting, reading about them and not missing a single Panthers game buying Panthers gear etc.

So yea, I didn't actually get passionate about this team until 2010/2011 so I'm the polar opposite of a bandwagon fan

With the inception of fantasy football, more people are latching on to Cam and, our defense and maybe even Stewart for their respective fantasy lineups...suddenly, we have star-power and are more relevant this year.

personally, I've been a diehard Panther from day one...even have a football card that introduces the franchise into the NFL. I think it's a "score co. Card," but I can't remember.

Bamdwagon fans are better than no fans and I've been sick of seeing more opposition fans in our stadium for half of our games and I'm glad we are finally filling our seats with Panther supporters than opposition fans.

Welcome one and all. The more the merrier!!! Keep Pounding!

    • Why are Vikings fans acting like we peed in their cereal?
    • I’m actually fine with our TE group. I would like to see us upgrade at ILB, maybe safety and CB.   I think we are good at WR. I thought Corley could have been a good player but I guess he wasn’t doing good at all.   I came across this article about Corley from today. I know sometimes a change of scenery can really help turn around a player and we’ve seen plenty of players from the jets end up being good other places. I just don’t know if Corley is that guy.   https://www.newsweek.com/sports/nfl/jets-insider-shares-embarrassing-fact-about-malachi-corleys-release-2119816
    • I was really rooting for him after seeing that video about his struggles. I always thought he was a solid and underrated player.   I thought for sure he would have made the team after hearing all the hype and how he made that overthrown catch by Plummer behind the line and still was able to gain a yard or two off it. Plummer really overthrew him each time yet he was able to still not lose yards. I think he still could play in the nfl. I think he may need a few months to get into top form though. Hopefully he will get signed to another team.
