Should we assume blue socks as well since the release says "head-to-toe" in color? That would actually look pretty bad in my opinion so I'm hoping we go with black which looks pretty sharp in the mock ups.

The jersey will be the normal "electric blue" jersey. An NFL team can only have a home, away, and one alternate jersey.

Normally you can only wear your alternate jersey twice in a season. It appears that we are allowed (or maybe forced) to wear it a 3rd time for this "color rush" game.

Blue pants will be the distinguishing feature of our jersey that week. Cowboys will be wearing one of their famous throwbacks.

You are correct. 

But the Cowboys jersey looks different than most of their throwbacks in the video...

Cowboys uniforms will be throw backs to these though it looks like they will be a little more refined with a brighter blue closer to royal than navy.

My major concern is that the colors won't match perfectly which often happens when have a shiny metallic color on the pants that has to go with a duller color that has to go on the jersey due to the material. If they get it right it will be awesome. If it's off by even a little bit my OCD might cause my head to explode.
