I, for one, was wishing Rivera would challenge SOMETHING on that Andre Johnson TD and bring to their attention the pushoff, since you can do that now.

It wouldn't have mattered since no flag was thrown during the original play. It counted against the Panthers because the flag was thrown during the original play, which is how review has always worked.

I dunno what you're talking about, but the incident I'm referring to was against Philly I think when the challenged play was whether or not a WR caught a pass.  No flags thrown.  Then on replay, they decided to add a flag for illegal touching since he went out of bounds first.  Since a flag was added as a result of an unrelated challenge, I was hoping Rivera would pull the same stunt in our favor.

Right - was thinking it was PI, but my comment about that still stands. Illegal touching flag was thrown after review because stepping out of bounds is factual and not a judgment call, like how teams can review for 12 men on the field/illegal forward pass/tipped ball on PI/etc.

All scoring plays are automatically reviewed. And still called wrong!
I'm still confused by the Olsen screening penalty. I'm not sure of the rule, but it looked to me like the defender ran into Olsen on that play (which would explain why he was soooo pissed). Was that another botched call, or just a heads up play on D to draw a penalty?

What are you guys are failing to understand is they didn't blow the call. They got the outcome they wanted. I'm almost to the point of boycotting the NFL. It sickens me.

Yea, I get the subjective part of it.  But the Andre Johnson pushoff was about as factual as it gets lol

Whalen gets bailed out on two plays.  This was the same buffoon who lined up as the center on the Colts infamous wtf fake punt against the pats and snapped it.

For fugs sake, i thought no way will THIS be the guy that does us in.  I was wrong the whole time, it was the guys in stripes.

So let me get this straight. Ginn's "catch" last week wasn't a catch but somehow Whalen's was?

I think I speak for everyone when I say..................................

Really don't think there was enough evidence to overturn that catch.

The clock being stopped when Whalen was tackled in bounds was inexcusable. I was yelling like crazy about that.

I don't know if you were at the game, or watching the game on a 20 year old TV.

On my TV, it was clear the ball made contact with the ground, which aided in the catch. By their rules, that is not a catch.  I know alot of people associated with the NFL are being careful not to raise the wrath of the NFL, but this crap of what is, and isn't a catch is absolutely ruining the game. There isn't a ref out there that can confidently expain what is, and what isn't a catch. They are scared to have an.opinion on it, so they stand by their bad calls.
