I'm no doctor, just speaking from personal experience.  Never had strep as an adult, then had it twice this summer.  Evidently there was a lot of strep going around CO this summer which is odd because it usually echos cold/flu season.  I got lucky and got an antibiotic resistant strain, hence having the pleasure of dealing with it twice.  Second round of antibiotics knocked it out.

Oral antibiotics usually take 7-10 days to completely knock it out. However one injection of  streptomycin and your'e normally asymptomatic in 24 hours. ( No I'm  not a MD.  But have been in healthcare for about 34 years).

btw to all you tough guys acting like bacterial strep is nothing- yes it's highly curable with antibiotics but you feel like absolute ASS the first few days. Josh needs to rest.
