If the Panthers needed motivation, this article by K.C. Joyner should do the trick

The Carolina Panthers are on such a roll that there is serious discussion about whether this team can go undefeated.

Although there is no doubting that the Panthers are one of the best teams in the league, the simple truth is they are not headed for a perfect season. In fact, after looking at the game tape and metrics, it becomes clear that the 2015 Panthers are likely to lose multiple regular-season games and eventually struggle in the playoffs.

There are a number of factors pointing in this direction.

So basically this guy says we'll lose multiple games to QB's that are better than what we've played.  Even though we've played Rodgers and Wilson.

Also said we'll lose in the Playoffs because of our defense allowing too many points and our offense not scoring enough.  Welp, @Jeremy Igo

I think it's time to show these players some motivation, in case they're on a high right now.

His entire point is about our points per drive given up.  A metric that is heavily influenced by the last two fourth quarters against Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers.  Both of whom had the benefit of having already lost the game and playing with four downs.  Give an NFL QB a no pressure 4th quarter, 4 downs and a friendly ref crew and the ball will get moved.  This is just silly to ignore that the Panthers were unequally the best team for 3 quarters in both of those of games and judge them based on 4th quarters with the aforementioned attributes.  Never a mention the injuries this defense has fought through either.  Call it what it is, click bait for Carolina haters that probably draws more clicks from pissed off Panthers fans.

Perspective is everything.  Here is a little background on hater mcHate....

Apparently Cam is not worth a first round pick.....

As valuable as size, speed and strength are, they do have limitations when evaluating players. Pro football history is full of imposing physical specimens who didn't pan out because they had some weaknesses that more than offset their elite physical attributes (e.g. Brian Bosworth, Mike Mamula, Lawrence Phillips).

Despite the clear historical warnings, in just about every draft there are teams that will select a player based on his physical attributes, ignoring his glaring football deficiencies.

.................

The odds are quite good that some team will be saying the same thing about Newton a year from now that the Broncos are saying about The Golden Calf of Bristol today. Whether or not those comments come with a The Golden Calf of Bristol-like case of buyer's remorse will depend on if that team was foolish enough to invest a first-round pick on Newton's potential.

Not scoring enough? And we are what 4th in scoring?

Also, yeah we are giving up points but the when/how matters.  Last 2 weeks we have gotten huge leads allowing very little in the process? Yes, clearly we have issues to work out on how we should play once the game is basically won in the 3rd.

Our defense is 11th in ppg right now. If we can just finish games better, we would be top 5 in ppg. Getting Charles Johnson back will be a HUGE HUGE help in the 4th quarter. He's an elite 4-3 DE and will be extremely fresh for the last part of the season. And I'm confident our run defense will at least be above average once we get CJ back.

I do think we lose a couple games.  So if we finish at 14-2 or 13-3 he technically is right.  But losing 2-3 games on a season doesn't equate to what he implies.

no one is going to want to play us in the postseason.  We are built to beat anyone. Also, anyone can lose...you can say that about NE but the media acts as if they merely would have to give a game away

    • This season only ends one way... We win this Sunday. Bryce is decent. We take back 1st place...   Only to then get our brakes blown off in the last two weeks.
    • Here's one of the most maddening things, that will be shown in full light over the next three weeks. The same people around here that called Darnold a bum and Mayfield a washed up over draft are also the ones saying Bryce is a catastrophe. Yeah, and I've been one who said Bryce wasn't big enough, brave enough or capable enough. I said back in the day that Darnold had a lot of fight in him and got shouted down. And on Mayfield, heck I didn't know, I just knew we had a very, very bad team that was run terribly. But I saw both of those guys go out there and resurrect their careers and be play-off bound since shaking the Carolina clay dust off their cleats. And we sat there and cat called their cars as they pulled out of the parking lot, laughing at what nobodies they were. Over the next three weeks, those two guys may just serve us sh!t sandwiches and then settle down to their just desserts. And then we'll probably let Bryce go off into the realm of other teams. And when that happens, will we see him coming back, better than before and we're left to re-sit this cycle all over again? Same naysayers, same results, same revolving carousel of ponies and pundits?  Will we end up looking like the Temu version of the San Diego Chargers back in the day watching Drew Brees come to fruition in the previously moribund Superdome while we whiff on a Manning pick just to be jilted for Phillip "Always a Bridesmaid" Rivers?
