I was thinking internally.  I mean, how many more times can Brees and Payton get the guys fired up?  They are kind of like a wounded animal at this point which is a little concerning.

The season has been over. But I don't think Payton is going anywhere. He doesn't deal with the defense and he lets that be known. That's why Gregg Williams did well here. He handled his side of the ball and Payton handled the offense. 

This team is certainly short on talent, mainly on the defensive side of the ball. They're a few offseason away from putting things together, in my opinion. They need a couple more strong drafts like we had this year.

Depends on the oline. When he's been protected, he's shown he can still perform at as high of a level as anyone. 

I would think, optimistically, two more years. But who knows? Peyton Manning fell off of a fugging cliff, ya know? At this point in time, I'm not concerned about a decline in Drew Brees. He still looks very good.

i was thinking two more years as well. So if he lasts two more, you will be looking for a new franchise. That is hard to do. You guys desperately need to draft well these next several seasons. i'm not sure you will be very competitive.

This has been coming for a while. It's culminated Sunday. Rob stood on the sideline alone, not talking to anyone on the defensive staff or to his players. Players weren't talking to players. 

Im happy about the move. But sad because it was done too late. He should have never been kept in the offseason.

I think there's a pretty good chance you clean the entire house, not just the defensive side.

I was utterly shocked when Ryan wasn't fired this past offseason.

Mods, Payton said in his presser that Rob Ryan is "absolutely" still part of the coaching staff. 

May ag want to edit title to show this is a completely unconfirmed report at this moment.

Saw a report from Alex Marvez that said Payton and Ryan are actually neighbors.

There is nothing on NOLA.com confirming that Ryan has been fired, just a lot of columnists calling for it.  So as of right now, it looks like he's still on staff.

Payton mentioned that he hadn't talked to the GM, so it may just be semantics in that he intends to fire him but hasn't confirmed with his boss yet. We'll see.
