Josh Norman vs Dez Bryant

dez will get his, but norman will be as good as anyone at limiting him.

and dez is a super emotional guy, the type norman excels at wheedling into mental errors. i would love to see him bait dez into taking a swing and get him ejected on national tv while i munch on cranberry sauce

Really looking forward to this matchup.

However, while I think the battle will be fierce, I'm going to give the edge to Bryant (assuming Romo is accurate and doesn't have to force his throws).

Normans biggest weakness (and arguably one of his strengths) is he has said if a pass goes his way, he would rather try to intercept it vs. knock it away.  Now I know that is probably every CBs goal; interception vs knock away, but sometimes this can backfire.  This happened 2-3 weeks ago where instead of going for a easy knock down, he went for the interception, and he got beat.

Now with that said, Norman isn't flying under the radar anymore, OCs know who he is and will plan around him.  We will be playing a desperate team who I am sure will make plays at towards their top WR.

Personally I think Norman shuts Dez down completely (something like 2 catches for 14 yards).  Dez does not have great speed and Norman is just as physical/athletic as Dez.  Romo is going to have to get the ball out quickly, leaving little time for Dez to get separation.  The Cowboys will line Dez up in the slot, bring him in motion and use pick plays to get him open.  But head to head, Norman shuts him down.

fwiw, Josh Norman lives for these types of matchups...the Dez Bryant's the Julio Jone's of the league

My main concern is probably him getting a little too hype and drawing a penalty, but it seems like he's gotten those out of his system.

I worry about this as well.

I am in the process of re-watching the Redskins game yesterday. I am just watching the TV feed not coaching tape so I am not watching Josh on every play. In the first quarter he made a tackle on a receiver by hitting him high and knocking him to the ground never wrapping up.. It was every bit as bad as the Olson hit that negated that Washington interception TD. No need for it. A few plays later he got called for hands to the face on Washington's long TD pass.

No doubt he is playing lights out this year but there is still room for improvement. Not getting targeted can lead to complacency. Just make the tackle Josh. No need to knock some guy out.

I think Dez would blast Norman with a wild over hand right like Chuck Liddell. Then here comes TD just spearing his mental ass to the ground.. as Bene hip tosses Terrence Williams as Colin Jones takes on Mcfadden as the underdog down to the 50 and just slams him in the wrestling match.. Luke and Jason Witten holding on to each other trying to sort things out but just play a game of Grabbies.

    • Personally I think he's a nightmare to cover I think linebackers generally aren't fast enough to keep up with him in coverage and cornerbacks don't have the strength to tackle him one-on-one in physically bring them down which would normally lead to a broken tackle or a nasty stiff arm or just bully ball play sure you could find a receiver with comparable speed like Cooper but he's faster than Cooper sure you can find a wide receiver that is the same size but he's probably More powerful than them and a better blocker.  The size speed athleticism package that he is in is completely unique it's easier to say I'd rather have just a big blocker because we've never seen this type of profile before I'm a risk taker I think you would be God blessed if this was there at 19 I think if you can get a guy that's a tight end who immediately becomes the fastest guy on your offense and at the same time that third wide receiver that can stretch and burn defenses over the top that's the perfect what the Panthers need type weapon.
    • I think you're under selling Sadiq. They are two different players in terms of how they win. Loveland is 2 inches taller maybe 5-6 pounds heavier. Comparing his speed to sadiq.. well your comparing a 4.7 guy to a 4.3 guy I'm seeing a guy that can take a bubble screen from the tight end position and turn it into a house call. I'm not saying the guy is a certified home run pick but I don't think there's really a president's for a comparison for this kind of athlete. It's easy to say this doesn't look like Warren or Loveland because we haven't seen guys that fit this profile The closest you might be able to get is Vernon Davis.  He's not as sure far as those guys were but at 19 I think almost everybody is going to have some warts and he's a lottery ticket of could be top 10 in the draft player or could fail I am more of a risk taker I think he fits the athletic profile that could be a homerun, like I said he's almost 40 lb bigger than Cooper and like 4-5 in taller than Cooper so and he's faster. So whatever you think Cooper gives you I think he does that and more. If you want to go with one of the office alignment I can understand that as well but for value as a receiving threat I don't think there's a bigger value at number 19.
    • I’ve haven’t seen anything that says we have interest in Njoku?
