Yeah, I tried to pause my video feed but I just missed it. Color me surprised. I thought the majority of the nation still believes that Cam is a low IQ run-first quarterback.

haha yeah I was shocked too .. had to rewind

Smitty called it back in 2012 on the top 100 show.  "Ask me 3 years from now who's the best player in the league... Cam Newton."

I remember also, that in some interview, might have been the same one. He said all Cam needed was touch in his passes. If he got that, he'd be unstoppable. He was right about that.

Is it just me or is the MVP talk this year dominating sports talk more than usual?

I mean, Cam winning MVP would be great but losing out to Brady would not be terrible.  Brady has his team at 10-0 with 19 different offensive line combinations prior to last nights game.  Hate him or love him the dude is amazing.

I'm just happy that Cam has his head on straight and treats the MVP talk as what it is.... just talk.

This team has bigger goals now and accomplishing them will do a heck of a lot more to spread out some individual awards than internet polls in week 10.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
