Captain America: Civil War

I just saw it tonight, enjoyed it...  imo the plot to get them fighting was a bit contrived, not the dude but the whole UN thing.  How can you blame the Avengers for any of that (except Ultron)?

Spiderman and Ant Man definitely stole the movie.  Black Panther was cool too, but even tho he had a big part, he didn't have much good dialogue.

Really my only other gripe was how Iron Man et al didn't get that Bucky was under Hydra mind control as WS and shouldn't be held personally responsible foe those actions...

Otherwise this "Avengers" movie was definitely better than the last one...

Zemo is getting a lot of love critically. Starting to wonder if we may get a Masters of Evil or even The Cabal in Phase 4.  Or perhaps the The Cabal being the next Thanos and pulling the strings for a couple phases-before bringing them out of the shadows.

Zemo, Norman Osborn, Kingpin, Loki, and maybe even a Red Skull, along with some of the rumored villains coming up would make for a nice Cabal. Marvel has gathered themselves a nice little cadre of villians to choose from.

Got to see it yesterday and while I don't really like giant fight scenes the big fight was pretty good. And I will echo the comments on Spiderman and Black Panther being the highlights of the movie.

I'm not a giant Marvel geek, so I don't know what's going to happen next at all, but I was kind of hoping Stark was going to get killed.

And I wish they would have cut something so they could show what the deal was with Stark and Pepper Potts.

It was pretty damn good.  Saw it this last Monday.

Spider-Man was perfect.  They really nailed that character.

Black Panther was a badass

Side note.  They should drop one of the planned movies and instead do a Thanos stand alone movie showing him do what he does that leads to the Infinity War

I read somewhere that the Russo's plan to rename "Avengers IW: Pt1 and 2" because they view them as two distinct movies, so it won't be a part one and part two.

The first one is supposed to be Thanos-centric, which will lead into the next one in which every hero in the MCU will team up to defeat the mad titan.

So, you'll probably get your wish in a way.

He destroyed all of his suits in Iron Man 3, starts making more, and she gets irritated. It was in the dialogue.

If you go back and watch AoU after, you kind of get the impression this development had already had its roots laid down there. Tony comes across as a bit brush off-ish when asked about her.

One of the perks of having an ongoing connected universe.

    • He had games where he was a top 10 QB that week, vs Saints, Falcons, Eagles, Chiefs, Bucs.  Amazing performances that I think show what he can do consistently.
    • We both know there's more that goes into batted passes than just the height of the QB. Most people here have readily acknowledged this and there were numerous discussions about it before we drafted Young. But if you are presenting a POV that Bryce's height hasn't tied to issues with his footwork then there's nothing anyone is going to be able to say to sway you and you know this. Even beyond the footwork I recall a redzone play where Bryce couldn't see around his right tackle at all where a receiver was waiting practically alone in the end zone for a touchdown. There are real world circumstances that are going to show up over the course of the upcoming season and it's up to Bryce and Dave Canales to make adjustments and do anything they can to mitigate negative instances and yes that begins with Bryce's footwork again. Thanks for your time. Have a nice weekend.
    • I'm arguing that should those supposed deficiencies, like height or pocket footwork, be as consequential as you and others have claimed, then there would be a clear, observable impact in the data. That's not unreasonable. For example, batted passes are often used as a size-related concern (see: Baker Mayfield), yet Bryce ranked among the lowest in deflections at the line. If his stature is such a limitation, why isn't it showing up there? Or are you suggesting that's why his passing yards fall short of your expectations? If the latter, I would hope that you're not discounting yards left on the field due to drops (of which he led the league in).  Also, asking for specific, measurable benchmarks isn't aggression... it's accountability. If that feels uncomfortable, it might be worth reflecting on how much of your anti-Bryce argument is grounded in subjective perception rather than objective metrics. So, again: do you have any specific KPIs beyond total passing yardage, height, and weight that you consider relevant to evaluating whether a QB is top-10? If you want to add YPA and passing yards per game to those metrics, that's fair, just be clear about it. But let's not pretend that asking for clarity is some kind of provocation. I'm simply trying to understand the actual criteria... not just the vibes.
