Panthers sign CB Cortland Finnegan

From everything I've read he seems to be a good guy off the field. So what if he talks junk? It's always easier to like the trash talker when he's on your team. Do you think the rest of the league liked Smith when he was here? What about Norman now?

Our captains on defense will walk him down from any confrontations before they explode, like they do now with Norman. I personally like a guy that has that fire. Norman is probably my favorite Panther at the moment.

i'm sure this has been posted somewhere but i just saw it for the first time so here it is:

pretty good watch

as for the signing, i think most fans viewed finnegan in a negative light, but he's always been pretty good. jones has looked like our teams biggest weakness the past 2 weeks and finnegan fills the nickle position perfectly.

I'm ok with the signing, he fits the bill of what we need at nickel and what G-man has said to like to do during the season.  G-man likes to leave some breathing room in the cap just so he has the flexibility to sign someone during the season, and Finnegan is that guy this year.  Also, this could be big for us come playoff time when we play spread passing offenses.  Having a solid Dime will help against Green Bay and Arizona.  I'm ok with him doing what he needs to as long as he doesn't throw punches, run your mouth all day long and ruin the other teams #3's day.

Even with Peanut back, Bene has been playing well outside. This move allows him to get reps at a position that he's better suited for and lets Tillman get some rest/recover. I like it.

    • Yeah, it’s not complicated. is a seam route a hospital ball? No. can a seam route be a hospital ball ? Yes.   if you are throwing seam routes do you need to make sure you don’t hang your TE/WR out to dry? Yes.  Because of injury.  as a former NFL QB explained.  Bryce was late with the throw and through it too far up field.  So a seam route became a hospital ball. result? An incompletion that got his WR banged up
    • I do not his healing or how the surgery went. Just 3 weeks for a grown man with all sorts of "juice" in his system, I just know toughness is not of strength of his....... I knew that when a safety pancaked him years ago....  I do think back to Chris Sims speen game and he finished it somehow. Went to the hospital and if he came a couple hours laters, he would be rip. Im just different about injuries and too old school about it. Still 4 full weeks for this, something else must have happened. I've been taking my pops to visits and they are scared to death about infections, Icky could have easily got one. DJ had issues in rehab last year.
    • Horn over Moore. Go a head and bench XL to let him work on himself or give the team a reason to trade him at the end of the year. Moore is a coaches pet and nothing more.
