I'm glad Thompson isn't super productive this year because if he were, that means the rest of the defensive personnel would suck overall. That's why guys like Luke and Beason were day one top tacklers on the defense, while they brought along Davis slowly as a rookie and put him in special packages (Panthers defense in 2005 was full of talent). Thompson will get there, but he doesn't need to right now as we have guys on the defense who are accountable and do their assignments well.

I think it was the year before. Kelvin Benjamin was that year. Either way we've gotten away with murder in the first round since 2011, and a big credit to Gett Dawg for slaying the second round since 2013. A testament to hiring real football guys for our coaching and FO positions.

This.  Uptempo spread offenses give college O-Lineman no chance to develop any real pass-blocking skills.  Many of them have never had to block for a 7-step drop in their careers.

Kalil's only 30 and turning 31 in march. Centers usually have long playing careers. Kalil could easily play another 5-6 years at a high level if he stays healthy.
