How Much Is Too Much...

... when talking about how good our 12 and 0 Panthers are?!

Was just reading @KB_fan's latest thread and I was struck by this graph she posted:

I posted this in response:

"I find it interesting that a week after a near-complete performance (WAS), the defense has to carry our offense (DAL), and does so with flying colors. Then a week after that (NO), the offense has to carry the defense. Just goes to show how good this team is. We match up well against everybody. We can beat anybody becsuse we can beat them with offense or defense.

Man I can't wait for the playoffs. Bring on AZ, Minny, and Seattle! I wish we could play all three of them in the playoffs! Haha but at this point that would require a meteoric collapse and I'm still hoping for 19-0! haha"

I would only add that not only is both our offense and our defense capable of carrying one another, but as a team we STILL haven't played our best football yet. Here's to being 1-0 every week since the beginning of September fam! And to hoping that we'll continue being 1-0 every week until February! :)

KBfan is a girl?

Yup, I'll fess up!  @UpstatePanther and a few others I've had email exchanges with knew that as I signed my name to those emails.  It hasn't been something I was particularly trying to hide, but being quite new as a Panthers fan, and new to the Huddle since May, I wasn't initially sure how we'll I'd fit in here, so it seemed better for a while to just let folks assume I'm a guy, though I'm sure some might have figured out my gender due to my writing style - I can be a bit sentimental or let emotions come out in what I write.

But yeah, I'm one of those weird females who like crunching numbers, and likes football!  My own brother has never been much of a sports fan - though he's now a genuine Panthers fan.  He's CERTAINLY NOT interested in Panthers stats, however, so it's been fun to hang out here. It's like having a great group of brothers... I've enjoyed being "one of the guys" for the past few months!!  LOL.

Love the Panthers and football but I hate crunching numbers.  You do good work.

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
