Vikings @ Cardinals TNF Thread

Let's go. Week 1 of my Fantasy Football Playoffs, and I'm not even checking if my opponent has any players in this game, simply because I want to watch this game clear of any obstructions.

Despite any implications it poses to us, this game should be very watchable, unlike that Monday Night debauchery.

Go Vikes, just because I want to see the Cardinals exposed and dissected.

My hatred for the Seahawks and confidence that we'll go 16-0 (or at very very least 15-1) has me rooting for the Cards since Seahawks fans would be so fuging annoying if they somehow end up winning that division, but my family is all form Minnesota and I'm cool with the Vikings and it would provide more cushion for us so I'm kind of split. That all being said I'm just hoping for some great football and a close, competitive game. Unfortunately I expect the Cards to run away with this one very early since the Vikings are missing their top 3 defensive players and another starter. Any Given Thursday(?) though.

Hell yeah man. I have -one- league. A 12 team, keeper league with a 35$ buy in that I've been in with the same dudes for like 6 or 7 years.

John Brown is tough because he can be non-existent for 50 minutes, and then out of nowhere, get like 14 points on one play.

    • It wasn't a his sack production, it was about his skill set, build, and scheme fit. He's a six foot tall 280 pound DT. He's best used as an interior pass rushing specialist. He can't play the nose in a 3-4 and he doesn't have the length or burst to play he end either. He just wasn't a scheme fit. He'd be a good roster piece as a rotational pass rushing specialist DT to bring in on passing downs in an even defensive front. But you can't hand out a 3 year/$45M contract for that either. Tha type of contract means you have to try to find starter snap numbers for him and that's a problem in a 3-4 front. Hell, it's a problem in a 4-3 front too. That's why the Chiefs were willing to let him walk.
    • Quite a few people argued we way overpaid high end starter money for a guy that was basically a capable backup at best. It was a bad move facilitated by a need to save face after missing out on Williams. It is what it is man. We aren't being paid to carry Dan Morgan's water. It'll be alright.
    • Who else at DT was available coming off a 6.5 sack season, that was relatively affordable?  We took the Milton Williams money and added Turk AND Bobby Brown III. You can't predict soft tissue, and surgery in this case. Part of the business.
