KK Short Is The Carolina Panthers Defensive MVP

One thing is for sure, K. Short has had one of the best season's already for a DT in our franchises history.  Since the start of our franchise comparable seasons for DT's:

2015 Short 44 tackles 9 sacks

2007-Kemoeatu 46 tackles 0 sacks

2003-Jenkins 45 tackles 5 sacks

2002-Jenkins 44 tackles 7 sacks

Those stats vary from site to site I'm sure but I used the official site.  And those are complete seasons so Short will add some more tackles and sacks in the next 3 games to add to his lead.  So I think it's safe to say that he's had the best year for a DT for our team.

I agree and I was saying this to friends this week. However, I think point 2 is invalid simply because it literally goes both ways.

What I mean by that is that KK also benefits from Josh. If everyone is covered, then the QB holds onto the ball longer and thus KK gets the sack.

The point is valid both ways in a symbiotic way. But I agree. KK has been a consistent force to be reckoned with all year. That high level consistency is invaluable. Thus MVP.

Yeah this is the way our whole team performs. Every position feeds off the others. Norman wouldnt be as successful without Peanut, Coleman, KK, Star, Luke, TD, Shaq, Kony, and JA. Neither would any of them be performing as well without Norman or any of the rest.

Great reasons to love this "team." This is easily the most cohesive team we have ever had.

Just wait till we get KB back and our ST finally gets on the same page cohesively.

if we have this same team with everyone healthy from start to finish, their is no-limit to how good these guys will be.

every game it seems like we have a different player step-up and make a game-changing play each and every week.

I think it's Star's week to come up big and for Shaq to do the same. Would be great if Finnegan and Tillman to be solid as well.

cant forget about Fozzy and CAP with their chances to make plays...and it will all come down to our OLine to make that happen.

What a group we have. Outstanding.

I do agree agree with this. Short has really masked the team's avg production from the ends. His push up the middle has caused many a poor throws and yet another guy a team has to game plan for.

As Gettles once said: he values guys more that play closer to the line as they impact more plays per game.

IMO extending Short is a more important signing than Josh Norman....but let us hope we have both for a while.

Star and Short are must-keeps considering their chemistry and talent together.

It took us years to overcome allowing Rucker to walk. I don't want that happening again.

    • Play point guard while throwing to… in 2023: Mingo - bust. Hurt/hasn’t done a thing in Dallas. Well on his way out of league  Chark - no longer in league  Hurst - no longer in league Marshall - hasn’t done a thing  Sullivan/Strachan - pretty much same dude. Both not playing  Thielen - hasn’t done a damn thing since he left Carolina  Miles Sanders - nothing    2024: Legette - rookie WR who still has no idea what he’s doing  Mingo - see above  Coker - when he did play/healthy he was solid  Thielen - see above  Sanders - bust Diontae Johnson - headache. Out of league. Failed on 12 teams in 2024 There’s more names but again all irrelevant and doing nothing in the league. This is the crap and turnover Bryce has dealt with the first two seasons. Given the type of QB Bryce is he stood no chance with these guys. We’re finally seeing improvement because there’s some consistency at least now. It would be nice if we could get Bryce a tight end worth a Damn so he could use the middle of the field more often. Plus we’ve had 10 different OL combinations this season as well or something absurd  What an absolute disaster this has been since the trade up.
    • I mean we are limited in our options realistically, Howell is a Baker esque player who put up 4k and 22tds in his one year starting... with no weapons and a horrible oline. Oh I'm sure out the gates he wouldnt have a chance vs teppers golden brycey but if we stumble out he gates again Canales may injury list him again to try and save his job.
