Ah yes, in rolls the New Year. Before you pop open the champagne and do something you will probably regret the next morning.... here are a few New Years Resolution suggestions to all Panthers fans everywhere. 

Every new wide receiver is not a perennial all-pro

Last season is was Hill. This season it is Norwood. These guys are projects. They have the opportunity to earn jerseys throughout the week. If they don't, don't blame the coaches. 

Stop the media whining

Every day I wake to see more and more complaints about the disrespect the Carolina Panthers get in the national media. Stop whining... and embrace it. The underdog role is something the Panthers have embraced over the years.... so should you. 

Welcome bandwagon fans

You want a Bank of America Stadium full of Panthers fans on Sundays? Well, you are going to have to welcome new fans. Get over yourself and your need to put others down because you have been a fan longer. 
 

For all that is holy, please shut your traps while on offense

It is a shame that this still needs addressed. I have even had push back on social media from people who disagree with me. "The team gets energy from us yelling while they are on offense". No, they do not. They get energy from not having to yell play calls and adjustments at the top of their lungs. They get energy from not having to call a time out or walk back five yards from a false start. 

Save your lungs for when the Panthers defense takes the field. End of discussion.

YES! I had to get over this one myself. Not really putting anyone down, but because I've been a fan for so long. Sadly, it's the bandwagoners that put the franchise over the top. There's always going to be a handful of us true fans, but the thousands that join us because they're doing well are the ones that will push it over.

A fan is a fan, no matter where they came from.

If they start as a bandwagon fan, it's our job (and the team's job) to convert them to more permanent status.

Truth - many of today's hard core Panthers fans started out as fans of other teams, peeked over at what was going on at BoA (or Ericsson) liked what they saw and decided to stick around.  More of this, please.

I agree. I guess pride plays a part in it when you're a long time fan versus the 14-0 fan. But you're right, a fan is a fan.

True - as someone who can't easily obtain tix via normal means, it's sad to hear about so many seats being avail. That said...

From what I understand, a stadium of people yelling (max decibel is 110-120db for a single human voice) will be louder than a stadium of seat bangers (a large drum designed for max loudness maxes at around 105db).  

As the BoA seats aren't designed to produce much sound when banged, it would appear that seat banging can only hurt your hand, damage the seat, and put your vocal output at a disadvantage vs if you were to only yell instead of yell+bang.

Well...., I know the defense always acknowledges the section I'm in. Cause it gets loud! But what's the matter with creating the sound of pounding drums at a BOA anyway? Its kind of our thing wouldn't you say?

Are people actually banging seatbacks with their hands or swinging the empty seat in front of them against the seatback?  I do the latter, and it certainly makes a ton more noise than banging the seat would.  It also doesn't hurt your hand, so no worries there.  I don't do this often because normally the seats in front of me are full, but sometimes I get the opportunity to do this late in the game when the stadium has emptied out some.  Of course, I'm also yelling as loud as I can when I do this.

      We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that

      There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
