This article by Bucky Brooks I find very interesting for a couple of reasons. The first being the fact that he seems to have not seen many games this season as he compliments out defensive line and their ability to get to the QB (yet last week we had our first sack from a DE since Thanksgiving). The second being that our biggest weakness is our passing game due to the lack of a "true no.1 receiver". The comedy continues when he says that bracketing Olsen and leaving the other guys open is a viable option when as we've seen throughout the year, it really hasn't impacted the game a whole lot.

Either way, if the biggest weakness we actually have is the passing game then i'd be far more optimistic than I am. However, Tillman being injured worries me as I think he helps a lot with the secondary calls as evidences by the way the defense played when he was injured initially.

He has been hating on the panthers all season on the "move the sticks" podcast.  Daniel Jeremiah has been calling him out on it.  I think he's just not a good scout to be honest with you. He hates us because we don't have a #1 receiver and it's all he can think about.  The benefit is you can't just stop one guy because we have multiple guys who can make a play and it's hard to read what we are up to.

I still don't think the Tillman injury exposed us then or will that much going forward.

I think we altered our DL approach....and the lack of a pass rush was exploited.  Truth is Tillman can't run with people.  So whether it is Tillman or McClain.....no pass rush is going to get guys beat.  Tillman knew the D, knows techniques, etc.  McClain doesn't have all those tricks and knowledge in his back pocket (which will be missed).  But I still say the lack of pass rush once CJ returned has been our biggest issue.  Pass rush declining paired up w/ the injury was bad news.....made it seem as it was the lost of the CBs when IMO it was both but more so the pass rush disappearing.

Ealy and Addision need bigger roles.

Bucky in the past has usually always been pretty glowing and supportive of the Panthers, even in our mediocre seasons.

Unless he's just being forced to be the contrarian it's kinda weird to see him be so critical of us all year this season though when we've got the best team we've ever had.

Woops Bucky you just revealed that you haven't been watching the Panthers this season. Cats out of the bag now. You've lost your credibility, and I hope you lose your job. You need to find a line of work you're passionate about. Stop tricking your employer into thinking you know what you're talking about. You're stealing that paycheck.
