Jake Delhomme must bang the drum- Its Destiny

I would normally be totally against this. Alot of football fans, (especially Panther fans) can be quite superstitious. But after watching the hype video, I'm convinced that this is a year of redemption. Allow me to explain.

Many in Panther Nation are calling this a "year of Destiny." And it really feels that way. But it's also a year of "atonement." The way the playoffs have played out for us, we have the opportunity to atone for all of the disappointments of our entire franchise in one season.

Last week, we got last years sea monkey off of our back. This week, we have an opportunity to remove the pain of Jake's 5 pick and 1 fumble game against the Cardinals. I would have Jake Delhomme bang the drum 5 times in succession and 1 final bang wearing Sam Mills 51 Jersey. It just feels right.

Should we fulfill our destiny... there's a good chance that we will face the New England Patriots .... there we will purge ourselves from our most disappointing loss of all time, and take our rightful place atop the NFL Mount.

In the biblical times, the 50th year was known as the year of "Jubilee." It was a year of liberation, atonement, and freedom from slavery. A year that debts were forgiven. I think it's fitting that 50th Superbowl could serve as an omen for the Carolina Panthers. I read somewhere on the board that winning Superbowl 50 will put us over .500

Maybe it's too early in the week to be thinking so deeply... But if you so happen to see ole Jake down there with a Sam Mills jersey pounding his little cajun heart away...

You will not be the only one in Panther Nation with watery eyes.

KEEP POUNDING

O ye of little faith fanbase!

Redemption and Atonement are stronger forces than "Bad Juju."

we're not asking him to throw a pass... Just bang the drum.

Bad Juju is actually having Ted Ginn catch punts for us... when last year him fumbling a punt was the reason we beat the Cardinals.

I actually heard Jake on WFNZ yesterday. He's actually getting his flight plans together and is planning to be there... but he doesnt know whose going to be banging the drum. He talked about how emotional he got Sunday when Ricky Proehl did it.

So it sounds like Jake will be in the building Sunday... whether we like it or not.

    • As I've said numerous times the last few days, having Thielen on the field has literally 0% to do with my views on this (I've even said I think Renfrow is going to take a ton of snaps from Thielen anyways).  He has more value to this team without playing a single snap than a 2026 5th round draft pick does for the franchise.   His value is helping set up T-Mac, XL, Coker, and Horn for long term success by helping them learn how to be pros, how to go about their business, how to train, how to do all the little things that helped turn Thielen from a D2 undrafted player into a borderline Vikings legend.
    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
