Saints board has 7 or 8 Panthers threads...here's some comments..

Unhappy Please tell me the Broncos can beat the Panthers

The panthers are just executing right now I'm not sure who can beat them. Please explain to me that the Broncos can pick them apart and win... Can the broncos run a QB spy defense and not be too thinned out?

Ugh...

Ugh...

There isn't a team period that can beat them right now. I friggin hate them, but they are the real deal. Smfh. Shoot me.

If Carolina wins the superbowl we still can get a good laugh.....

Falcons would be the only team in the division without a superbowl, lol.

I've been a Saints fan since 1977 (when I attended my first game at 6 years old). I've been a die hard for the past 38 seasons.

And I will be a die hard until the day I pass on.

I'm giving the background to let you know I'm not bandwagon, nor a post 2006 fan.

That all being said, I like Cam.

(Ducks)

I HATE the Falcons, and have always hated the Falcons.

But the Panthers I just don't hate like others on this board.

Obviously I don't root for them, but I see them as the Bucs.....just don't care either way.

But Cam, I really like watching him play, and appreciate his skill.

I know many on this board think he's the absolute worst.

I can assure, you, if we were heading into the Super Bowl, led by Super man......we'd all be LOVING him.

Carolina is having so much fun because of Cam.

We would be going nuts if he was leading us to the big game in 2 weeks.

It's obvious he's a beast, but I like the showmanship.....he's clearly out there having fun. Giving balls to kids, seems to always have time for people....sure he's a hot dog but whatever. He is having fun playing a game that takes itself way too seriously. It doesn't bother me like some on here.

Instead of Praising Him - How Do you Beat Cam Newton?

- As one of the Cardinal DBs last week spoke about Newton's sure size, "He is a Big man, a huge man for a QB." So that tells me that DBs fear him in the open field.
- His ability and willingness to run create havoc for defenses. Yesterday you could see Cardinal LBs watching Cam on Carolina's version of the read option. That created just a second of doubt for the hand-off to Stewart who had now had a hole in the LOS and was at the 2nd level in a blink
- Cam has a cannon of an arm. Occasionally he still throws a ill-advised pass, but he has improved that weakness a good deal. However the strength of his arm makes Carolina's passing field-of-range much larger.
- Cam's size gives him the ability to clearly see the field over big defenders
- Add pure game breaking speed like Ginn who Cam can find all over the field and it's disruptive.

So I am really curious what others think is the key to beating Newton

and we should check Arizona's board..

    Default Carson Palmer got Delhomme'd

Well guys, Palmer an old vet who had a good season just completely exploded... just like Delhomme in 2008.

We need a new QB because he's done and his fire has burnt out.

Panthers crush Cards crow eating/congratulations thread

You put a severe beat down on us. You earned it. You played great and we, well...not sure what to say about what we game planned for or put on the field this evening.

The better prepared team won and I congratulate you. I don't see anyway the Broncos are less than a seven point dog in the super bowl and the only way you could possibly lose the SB is to put up a effort like we did tonight.

In all fairness,

I told my friend that I wanted the cardinals to win but if I was forced to bet my house, I would've picked the Panthers. They were the better team all year, and proved it tonight. I'm not sure if the outcome would be dramatically different if the game were at home. Maybe we lose by 20?

I hope Manning gets his second ring. **** Cam Newton I hope his ACL rips

Oh shut up! You make real cardinals fans look bad. This team got its *** kicked. Just like cam said, "you don't like me celebrating, than don't let me in." Let's focus on how we repair this abysmal QB situation. The panthers mopped the floor with us even with all of the injuries. They are the better team and it was evident by the end of the first quarter.

and let's visit the Falcons board

These are there stars and almost all are young:

Cam Newton
Ryan Khalil
Kelvin Benjamin (stretch to say he is star but had 1,000+yds last yr)
Greg Olsen (not as young)

Thomas Davis (not young)
Luke Kuechly
Shaq
Kawaan Short
Star Louteleilei
Charles Johnson (not young)
Josh Norman

The bottom-line is the Panthers have a QB and they have young dominant pieces in Kuechly and Short in the front 7.

Most importantly, Carolina's GM seems to know how to build the bottom of the roster as well with free agent role players like Ted Ginn, Jerricho Cotchery, Robert McClain, Roman Harper, etc. Also developmental draft picks Shaq, Kony Ealy, Funchess, etc.

Do I believe the Falcons can get better? YES.

But will it be enough? DEBATABLE.

If Cam can maintain his level of play and stay healthy, they will be tough to beat in 2016, 2017, 2018 & maybe longer.

Now, hate to say it, but there is a practical Saints fan right there. We can all laugh at the Falcons together .... from opposite sides of the room lol.

    • To start with, you wouldn’t want to count up that value chart. You would see quickly where that is headed. But you basically did a quantity comparison, while ignoring quality.  I am looking at 2023 as the start, because it became all about Bryce.  2023 you have 4 picks plus DJ Moore for offense vs 2 (80 and 145) for defense.  2024 you got the 1st overall, the 32, the 46 and the 101 for offense vs 72, 157, 200 and 240 for defense. Leave the FA IOL out of it. Which was a crazy big  investment. But it wasn’t draft.  Anyway, that is basically 4 top 100 picks for offense and 4 picks for defense in 2024. Except they were 2 first rounders, the second rounder, and the 4th was really high at 101. Vs 72 and day three stuff. Please….  Second quoted/bolded… See you think we hate Bryce. That isn’t it at all. It is nice easy way to characterize us and discredit our talking points though.   Me, I do mostly hate watching him play. But I don’t hate the person. I hate the hell out of the stanning.  It started with the very first question I asked about his footwork, arm strength, and size. Height being the principle objection. I never even got to the durability factor. There was plenty without factoring that in.  But there was rabid opposition to even asking the question of what a couple of small fractions of a second extra closing time would do for the defenders.  What the extra time it takes to flip the hips would do vs a pass rush or on the other end after the ball is in the air. Split second more for recognition where it is going for the DBs.  The tippy toe backpedal.  That poo was a mess and it has always been mess but no Bryce fan wanted to hear it. “Go get another team to root for”. “It worked in the SEC it will be fine in the NFL you don’t know football you are just a hater”.  It got worse when the real games started. It has never stopped. It is nice that many people have left that train so there is less abuse but it hasn’t stopped.  So whatever…
    • Whatever school you attended, I don't know and I don't care, but I would suggest demanding a refund.    Something was completely missed there.
    • The draft capital since since 2023 has in no way been pretty even.  Especially when you zero in on day 1 and day 2 draft picks.  Draft capital has vastly gone toward the O over D.
