Tracking down Panthers merch in Greenville/Anderson SC????

PanthersATL

Recommended Posts

So being located about 250 miles away in "South South Charlotte", our options for tracking Panthers merch in person are a little limited.

Fine, a LOT limited.

But Greenville is just an hour or two north, not a bad way to spend a weekend daytrip grabbing some fresh celebratory Panthers gear in person rather than relying on what we can find online.

Is this the best use of my time? Probably not.  Could I save some $$ by not doing all that driving and just buy stuff on Amazon?  Sure.

But where's the fun with that.

But we have a problem, and that's where I turn to The Huddle for some help.

Here's what I've run into thus far with some quick phone calls.  If y'all have better suggestions that don't have me driving much further north than Woodruff Rd, then let me know.

  • Kohl's on Woodruff: no Panthers gear. Carry Clemson and Gamecocks stuff
  • Costco: no Panthers merch
  • Sam's: no Panthers merch right now (they do carry it earlier in the year)
  • Target: may have some hats, maybe. We really carry a lot of Clemson stuff though
  • Dick's Sporting Goods: Nope, no Panthers gear unless someone bought it online and returned it to the store. We have college stuff
  • Academy Sports on Woodruff: YES YES YES we have TONS of stuff (but call first before you drive up, just to be sure). Includes championship gear
  • Academy Sports in Anderson SC: nope, just Clemson stuff

Suggestions appreciated. Not looking for anything in particular (other than the Championship stuff).  Shirts, sweatshirts, bar stuff, whatev.

To be fair a lot of stuff is sold out, I mean the team is 17-1 and playing in the Super Bowl. Supply can't keep up with demand right now.

totally, I get that. I'll be happy with the Championship stuff honest, then the SB winner stuff the week after that.

True..for a small chain, Hibbett sports carries a bunch of stuff. There is one here in Hendersonville in the Blue Ridge Mall that does, along with Dunhams sports that does also. About 30 min from Greenville on 25.  Dicks is useless and overpriced on everything anyways.

"The Pride of Both Carolinas"  Enough is enough Jerry, rename the team the Charlotte Panthers.

Fug no. I am a proud Panther fan from South Carolina and there are plenty more like me down here. It's our team too. Hell... the PA crew played Sandstorm toward the end of the game. That's a nod to all the USC fans that support the Panthers.

Nothing against you bro, but GTFO with this nonsense of the Charlotte Panthers... lol. It's Carolina and it will stay that way.

I went into Academy on Woodruff a few days ago and they had a ton of the Championship gear right up front.  Everything else was completely sold out.  I honestly did not see much in terms of variety though.  My Local Target in Simpsonville usually has a section of Panther / Clemson / Gamecock's gear right when you walk in the door to the left.  I have not been in Target since the NFCCG so I am not sure how they are looking right now.

Sadly, Upstate South Carolina has never been a big area for Panther fans.  I never see any body that actually pulls for them...even when I run into the occasional person wearing some gear when I ask if they are a true fan they always say..."Nahh, someone gave me this shirt"  Of course, now...everyone is buying all the gear up and you are seeing it more and more.

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
