The players lost this game without a doubt. If you are watching this game it is obvious.

Shula may not have called a good game but he didn't get torched all around on the field, throw ints, drop passes, and commit penalties.

just curious how it feels knowing nobody gives a fug about your constant edgy #hottakes? like, is it exhausting logging into to find out nobody cared about some scorching remark you posted garnerd no attention whatsoever after you thought for sure was going to change the landscape of the internet as you knew it?

guess what? next year there will be hundreds of threads about things the media said about our team. nobody will care csx didn't approve. go shitpost somewhere else

hard to win a game when the defense knows exactly what to defend on first down. killing every drive with generic placalling will always be a bigger transgression than a couple isolated plays by a collect few of players (who i assure you I'll give enough blistering heat to as well, but the point still stands

Yes he is the one messing up. When you throw away downs and leave less opportunities for your QB and don't call any short passing plays to help him out yes you are messing up.

Bullsh*t. No coordinator in the league is going to win against the best defense in the league when their receivers drop 8 passes - let alone the line implodes, players miss assignments, and we fumble three times. Oh, and that's not counting the field goal miss or the punt return fail. Our defense played well enough to win - but we made too many mistakes to capitalize.

We were in position to score many times. Players failed to execute. Cotchery catches that pass at the five, it's a different game. Ginn catches that pass instead of deflecting it for a pick, it's a different game. Gano makes the field goal, it's a different game.

Exactly. Yes the Receivers had hard time catching and the line wasn't consistent, but good coaching can overcome mistakes. We didn't have good coaching. And the offensive play calls looked like the ones from 2 seasons ago.

We were in position to score multiple times if we didn't throw away downs. Again, where are the short passing plays to counter the pressure Denver was bringing? Exactly, there was none, except for a 3rd down crossing patter to Cotchery.

We could have overcome our mistakes. Shula was too incompetent to do so.

"you're so stupid Growl, they say nice things about shula on the major networks"

Interesting quote came out today from Mike Shula

Asked what we're doing differently this year, Shula responded

"I've let Cam take full control of the offense, I was too stubborn to let him before, but we are now."

It's visibly apparent tonight that that trust didn't extend to the Super BOwl. the game is, apparently, too important for Mike Shula to forfeit what his ego says should be his role.

We've run up the middle on first down virtually every opportunity for a total of negative yards. The play call comes in with about 15-20 seconds left, and it's costing us.

At the end of the half, with two timeouts and two minutes, we played for a FG rather than the lead.

We can do better than Mike Shula. Flame away.

Dude, those 1st down runs for no gain all night long were IMPORTANT to keep the Broncos out of sync!

Oh.. wait.  The Broncos were tee'ing off on the passing game on 2nd and long and 3rd and long with one of the best pass rushes in the NFL?

Nevermind.

But, hey, we won the TOP battle 33 to 27!  SUPERBOWL TIME OF POSSESSION CHAMPS BABY!

(P.S. I'm sure this was all Cam Newton's fault somehow.)

Yeah, let's not blame the guys who dropped 8 passes and fumbled three times, or the kicker who missed a gimme, or the gunner who decided not to tackles. It's Shula's fault! If he just called different plays our receivers would magically have caught everything and our line wouldn't have failed.

I just blamed them in this very thread. Can you read? The problem is everything starts at the top. And thats coaching. We could have very easily overcome our mistakes. We were still in it in middle of the 4th. Yet Shula was still calling dumbass plays.

But wait a minute... People were saying Mike had finally turned the corner, that he had done a great job of calling plays and was being considered for HC jobs...

He had done a great job really.

Then, when it really counted, he and Ron decided what was REALLY needed wasn't what Cam could provide them, but the good ol' TOP battle they love so dearly!

You do know we won the dearly treasured and beloved Time Of Possession Super Bowl Championship tonight, don't you?  And isn't that what's really important?

fug Shula.

First and 10 on your own 24 with 5 minutes left? Run Tolbert.

Who had already fumbled in this game.

TWICE.

But Ron and Mike do love their veterans.  Veterans can fug up all day and all damn night, but they still do no wrong.
