lol the Panthers just signed Ras-I Dowling to a futures contract

Panthers signed CB Ras-I Dowling to a reserve/future contract.

It's the first we've heard of the 2011 second-rounder in over a year. Dowling's three appearances for the Raiders in 2014 were his first since 2012. He was out of the league in 2015.

This is only notable because the Patriots drafted him with the Armanti edwards pick, and it's very likely we would have taken him as well at that spot.

Yea, Dowling was already on our practice squad.  Makes sense to sign him to futures contract if that was needed to maintain his association with the team.  He may end up an active contributor sooner rather than later, with our situation at CB (only young CBs I can remember that we have that are currently under contract for the coming season are Bene, Lou Young and Teddy Williams...)

We've got Kyle Love.  Not terrible at all.  In fact, very good season.  

And Robert McClain.  Doesn't seem terrible either....
