Basically we added Tillman & Coleman .... who cancelled out Hardy and Bell.

Yes, it seems crazy to not get anything at all for Hardy.  But Coleman & Tillman played so well for us.  They were huge additions to our team in 2015.   No regrets.

This is why I hated the Tillman signing when it happened last year. I've gotten over that to say the least. Well worth it.

Yea, if Hardy had played more and better we probably woulda gotten at least a late comp pick for him. Oh well.

Was Coleman worth a potential third-round pick? Sure.

Was Tillman? That's debatable.

But without knowing Hardy's status with the league last spring, the Panthers couldn't just wait around and not address holes in their roster.

“Would I like to have three extra comp picks every year? Who wouldn’t?'" general manager Dave Gettleman told BBR last July. "But I don’t constantly sit there and say, ‘Oh, we can’t sign this guy because we’re not going to get a comp pick.’ I’m not going to let that stop me from building a roster."

Just got to post this IG pic of Tillman rocking Panthers swag on his way to a USO tour.  Just love me some Peanut Tillman.  Want this guy to stay a Panther somehow.

Give me Peanut becoming a Panther over a late draft comp pick any day over & over & over again.

If he'd take like a 1 year $750,000 contract and be ok with possibly not being active until late in the season I'd say bring him back.

Due to the timing of his injury, he is probably not going to be able to play until at least October so I was thinking we could just sign him and put him on the PUP list. He can be with the team until he's ready to play without taking up a roster spot until as late as week 14 and he could be playing as soon as week 7 if he was ready.

He would take up a spot on the 90 man roster until preseason but that's not a big deal. As a bonus while he is sitting out, he can act as a de facto coach which would be helpful since we are sure to bring in at least a couple young DBs. If he doesn't fully recover then he just goes on IR him. If he does recover then we've got a good CB that's fresh for the stretch run. If we decide what we have is better then we can just release him. The only downside is a very small cap hit and losing a spot on the offseason 90 man roster. This all assumes he still wants to play obviously. He may want to go ahead and start his media career.

Have a feeling we haven't seen last of Tillman here. At the very least, he can come back as a late season inury replacement like Finnegan and McClain did
