Strong Safety

We have a visit or workout planned with Vonn Bell per Rand Getlin. Bell is nearly the opposite of the other S prospects we've met with. Rangy FS that's good in coverage, especially man, but an awful tackler that shies from contact. Drafting him would almost certainly move Kurt to SS.

If Cash is there in the 2nd, I'd love it. Don't think he'd be the pick at 30, and he could struggle in coverage...but an added player not scared to make big hits near the LOS? Yes plz.

Not sure I want to use a 1-2 round pick on a S that could struggle in coverage. If I use that high of a pick on him. I want him to be able to do both. Cover, and tackle.

This will be Boston's 3rd year. He very well could grab that position, and not let go for the next 4 years. Third years the charm. Right? I sure hope so. Cuz we gots a bunch of those types. You can't shake a booty without scary a couple. Throw in 4ish draft picks, and all those UDFAs, and you could damm near start a day care.

And yet. When the season starts. We will probably be the odds on favorite team to beat. Competency. It's a hell of a thing.

Nickel was addressed when Boykin was brought in. CB2 is going to be fine because Bene will be back, and be moved outside where he belongs. Safety could possibly use an upgrade, but Boston should be serviceable. I think it should be addressed in the draft. RDE will most assuredly be addressed at some point in the draft. With the young guys we have in Delaire, Addison and Miley, we should be fine there without bringing in an overpriced vet.

Hard to say that Nickel has been addressed when the signing was for a 30+ old DB on a 1 year deal.  It is covered for next year, but it by no means should be taken off the list of areas we should focus.

Boykin is 25, if that's who you're referring to above.

My bad....thought he was older.  But, he is still only on a 1 year contract.  So, it still has to be an area that we look at.....we have ZERO depth there behind Boykin as well.

That is an issue.  He's on a 1 year "prove it" deal.  He was pretty damn good in Philly until they had a falling out, and Pittsburgh didn't play him much last season, for whatever reason.  When he did play, he was their highest rated corner.  He comes here, where DB's tend to look really good behind that front 7, his stock goes way up, and he reaches a price point that Gettleman won't touch.  Makes him a 1-year rental, much like Norman.  Works out well for us this year, and really well for him after this year, should he play to his potential.

Not sure why the Panthers or anyone else for that matter is showing much interest in Tony Jefferson. He is very good. Would be a great fit here.

Agree.  We have until April 22.  He's young, experienced, cheap, motivated, and no way cap strapped Arizona could match, not to mention it'd weaken an opponent.
