Here's my simple argument against D. Henry

If big RB's are so great- why haven't there been more? 

Are you willing to bet that Henry is the exception instead of the rule? 

I'm not- not in the first round.

Here's a simple fact.  If you spend a first round pick on anybody not named Adrian Peterson, Todd Gurley, Leonard Fournette, or Samaje Perine at the RB position.  You probably need to rethink your skills as a GM.

so yes I agree but he IS the exception, thank you for proving my point - we see hundreds of RBs in the league every year (including backups and practice squad) and PLENTY of talented large men------so why aren't there more huge RB's 

I'm not saying Henry won't succeed but that certainly IS NOT the rule- he would be an exception

If it makes any difference I took a TE in my Panther's Madden franchise after winning the Superbowl (32 man league). Released Olsen two seasons after, won 3 straight Superbowls and a 19-0 season.

Now, if Henry is picked in the 2nd round.  I'm okay with that.  I just wouldn't use a first rounder on a guy that ran 40+ times a damn game this past year at Bama.

Hard to be upset about any of these picks. Hunter Henry would be my favorite because I think he has the rarest talent in the whole draft; a TE with his skill set only comes along once in a while. I haven't looked at Butler much because I assume he will go before 30, but he'd be a no brainer at 30 (thanks for the film). Ogbah will most likely be the best DE available at 30 and is definitely worth a 1st round pick. Derrick Henry scares me a bit because he has potential to be a miss. He has a high center of gravity and has been used a lot at Bama. I worry about his legs taking too much punishment, but if G-man likes him at 30 who the hell am I to argue?

So, that's my preference order if all 4 are on the board at 30: H. Henry, Butler, Ogbah, D. Henry.

When it comes to RB's is picking one in the first round that isn't a guarantee a horrible thing to do?  

Isn't this common sense in today's NFL?  I mean, I don't know more than Gettlemen when it comes to football.  But common sense should be common, right?
