Four Carolina Panthers Round Two Prospects

Would be happy if any of these guys made it to us in Rd 2. TN has 3 picks in the second rd now, I bet they are the most likely candidate for us to trade with depending on how the board breaks in the first rd.

Shepard is the consensus safest pick among these from what I have read. The guy is just a good football player and incredibly strong for his size, I think he had like 20 reps on the bench at the Combine.

Ifedi is a monster, he passes the eye test for sure - not sure if he will make it to the second rd.  I watched him shove some of the AL guys around when A&M played them.  If we dont get this guy, Joe Haeg  might be the pick later, I think he might really be on our radar 4/5 rd if we keep a pick there.

Bell is projected as a FS in most of the reports I have read, I think he is probably the least likely of these it would seem we are more in need/would take a value pick at SS.  He is a solid cover S if that is what DG is looking for.

But any of these guys would be a good grab in the second rd if DG pulls the trigger.

I agree that all four of those guys are very unlikely to be there at 62.  With those guys being the ones we are after in round 2 a trade up is almost a must.

I doubt we draft more than 4 players this season, and if we end up with only 3 studs, I'm fine with that. As Igo points out, we will end up cutting good players this season (both Deangelo and Todman had decent runs with the Steelers last season after we cut them). Anyone we bring in needs to be an improvement (within the next couple of seasons) over someone we have, or be a depth player who can make an immediate impact on ST (see Mayo from last draft).

Titans have pick number 33, 43 and 45.

I think we could easily get 43 or 45.

Make it happen DG. Would love to move up and get Germain Ifedi or Sterling Shepard.

According to the "NFL Draft Value Chart", moving from 62 to 45 would cost us our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th round picks. While I agree that it may be worth it for the right player (Shepard?), that's a lot of eggs in 1 basket.

Is that accurate?  I recall trading up in the 2nd last year for Funchess and only giving up our 2nd pick and the 5th?  If this isn't right what did we give upp?  we traded up from 57 to 41 and gave them 57, 39 (3rd), and 201 (6th).   it would cost 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th.  Idk.

We traded our 2nd (57), 3rd (89) and a 6th (201) to jump up 16 spots and grab Funchess at 41. the chart is only a basic tool, every GM places different value on picks. Basically, # 252 is next to useless, so I could see us only having a fourth or fifth round pick left. but for 2 top 50 picks...it may be worth it.

    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
    • I don't really care about your post at all. I just saw the direction of the discussion and this snippet from an article I read earlier in the day was a good spot to put non-Panthers info. I mostly don't care about the players personal lives. That's off the field/personal poo. Not really any of my business.  I also don't know him personally so what would be the point of congratulating him outside basically attempting to draw attention to myself like so many in the social media/internet realm.
