Lets get this out the way, Panthers Are Not Going To The SB Without Josh

Odds were already stacked against us because we lost the SB, but I knew we were going back

But now without a corner we know can hold his own against any WR it's definitely not happening now. Unless we get that it's not going to happen. Our pass rushers isn't = Ware & Von 2015, even then Broncos still had Talib. I hate Seattle even more now, they kept Sherman, Kam & Earl together. Josh was a reason so many fans and players were so salty last year and I enjoyed every minute of it damn. Good luck to him

Josh won't be the reason we won't make the superbowl.

Go cry a river somewhere else. We have talent, good coaches, and a great GM.

Josh can either swallow his pride, and sign at a price lower than he was dreaming about, or the Panthers will successfully move on without him.

I know he's overreacting, but im shocked that so many of you are just shrugging this off and assuming Gettleman is making  the right move just because he's made good moves in the past. Let me remind you what just happend: WE JUST LET THE BEST CORNER IN THE GAME WALK AND GOT NOTHING IN RETURN. Our pass rush is garbage and our secondary outside of Norman was nothing special to begin with. In case your memory is a little clouded, go pop in some tapes of Weeks 3 through 10 of the 2014 season before Josh got the start and see what a doormat this defense was.

These shutdown corners dont grow on trees, and maybe im wrong, but the first step of making it back to a super bowl should be keeping the guys that got you there

I know a lot of posters on here get a raging hard on from watching our GM refuse to fold and stand firm on prices, but at the end of the day would you rather fork over a couple extra million more than you would prefer to ensure you keep one of your best players, or do you want to stand firm and lose him? Sorry but Im not gonna automatically give GMan the benefit of the doubt just because of his history. He's just as much to blame for this as Josh is.

He wasn't the best

The lengths in which some of you are going to convince yourself that Norman is garbage are rather embarrassing.

He was at minimum a top 2 corner last year. Today does not change that fact. Nor does your bitterness.

Its kind of funny to me the people that say we just let him walk.  They tried and offered a very fair 11 mill a yr.  Not to mention he could play on the 13.3 tag and still wasn't happy.  Eventually you have to make a call.  You can just give him a blank check right?

I hate that Josh is leaving to but in Seattle, Sherman, Kam and Earl wanted to be together and made it happen. Norman is about Norman, which is why Fox benched him and instead of developing a better attitude, he developed into a better player with a worse attitude.

It's easy to tough talk to other fans about jumping off bandwagons in the offseason when there is no record.

But when the games start being played, the tune will change immediately if there are struggles. People will be flipping poo. That is for certain.

Anyone who wants to jump off the bandwagon do so now.

We're going to be a better team this year than last.

The players all have to pull on the rope the same way or they're gone. Team.

Why every time a fan dont go homer mode yall always talking that jump off the bandwagon poo. Did anybody say they were no longer Panthers fans

How about actually discussing the team and what it means and dont means on the field

this is what, the third or fourth time something like this has happened?  gettleman is the guy that released steve smith, deangelo williams, and charles johnson.  he let greg hardy walk for nothing and he freaking loves d-linemen.

frankly this shouldn't be overly shocking to anyone.  the suddenness of it probably should be, but not the concept.

honestly if this completely explodes in his face and we have the worst pass defense in the league next season and josh norman returns a game-clinching pick six against us in our home opener i'd just chalk it up to the law of averages finally catching up with gettleman rather than an outrageously dumb move.

You just said there's no chance the Panthers are going to the Super Bowl this year.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
