I think only an idiot would NOT pick Cam.

Russel Wilson would be a good choice too, but I believe Cam to be a better talent, and he is stronger, taller and a better QB period.

I love Cam but cmon man.  I also strongly dislike Wilson but he is good.  If I had to pick one with a gun to my families' head I would probably take Wilson.

Cam is by far the strongest, safest, and most secure block to build a team around.

Wilson relies too much on luck and his defense to win. I think people just like him because he's a "good guy" and that inflates his value beyond what it actually is.

that doesn't mean he isn't great, btw. I think the cam/russ match ups are the brady/Peyton match ups of the future.

and as far as luck is concerned,  he's essentially a figment of the imagination. I expected more and I think most did. Only difference is I saw through the illusion, like many here have.

It's surprising so many nationally are still holding on to that dream.  they'll move on eventually.  They'll find another star to hitch their wagon to....only to see it drive them off another cliff.

Andrew Luck is a building block.

Cam Newton was a building block.

The difference is Cam started building a long time ago and has gone from building block to solid structure to fortress. He's just got to start picking out trim and shades of paint.

At some point, a building block that remains a building block is just unrealized potential.

Easiest division in the NFL, and Luck still can't get close. Manning had the same and how many did he win in Indy?  Luck still is not on the same level as Manning at the same place in their careers. Not sure how long the talking heads will continue to push Luck, and don't really care. We have the heir apparent, and his name is Cam fyckin' Newton.

People continually dismiss Luck's buttload of turnovers and just fall in love with one or two passes and say "Luck is going to be one of the greatest". He still does the same rookie sh*t that Cam USED to do......Stare down receivers, hold the ball too long, turn the ball over at a MASSIVE rate, etc. Cam has already grown out of that, while Luck has still shown no intention on changing that. Most overrated QB in the league by far. I would take both Cam and Wilson over Luck.

2015 Offseason narrative:

Look how much talent the Colts have put around Andrew Luck. The Colts are the favorite to win the Super Bowl.

The Panthers are ruining Cam Newton, he has no talent around him. They'll be lucky to win 8 games.

I swear I hate sports media sometimes. It's the only damn job in America, besides congress and the president that you aren't held accountable for piss poor performance. You can't say Luck has help and they're going to the super bowl and then when they suck and he's leading the damn league in turnovers turnaround and say he doesn't have enough help.

just a side note, didn't derek carr use to post on here while his david was a panther? i seem to remember some relative of his posting on the huddle for a while and i thought it was his brother.

that sounds familiar but i think it was two separate things

fiz got into with one of david carr's family members on youtube years ago, like back when he was a panther.  he had made some kind of video or slideshow making fun of him and whoever it was came after him over it.  that might have been derek.

edit: here's the video

now shitposter extraordinaire therealdeal was, as far as some of the amateur sleuths here could tell, related to matt moore in some way, possibly his brother.  hence his tireless advocating for him as being a better long-term quarterback prospect than the 2015 NFL MVP and first team all pro

i know what you're talking about as well, but i still remember someone who i think was carr's younger brother on here kind of defending him (at least until it was evident he was sucking).

The joke that got me out of neg rep, yep there was neg rep at one time...sigh.

Somebody had posted a picture of the Nintendo glove and that Carr would be wearing it in the next game. I said Does it come with GPS?

Does it really matter?  You can nit pick if you like,  but any team would be lucky as hell to have either Cam or Wilson to build around.    It doesn't diminish what Cam has done or will do,  by talking up another young-ish qb.

Cam/Wilson,  different types of qbs,  but they stand out in the sea of new,  young qbs.

Luck..... He doesn't have the postseason accomplishments of Wilson,   nor does he have the reg season accomplishments of Cam...       He is basically the new Philip Rivers,  except he has a ton of hype.
