Moving to Wilmington...Suggestions Needed

To make a long story short, my fiance and I are moving to Wilmington at the end of next month. Need some suggestions on places to stay. We would like to do a 2 bed 1.5 bath somewhere but a few of the places we saw would not be available until much later. Preferably close to UNC-Wilmington.

Anyone have any good suggestions or live near Wilmington that can help??

Why close to the college?  Working or going to school there?  Where are you working if not UNCW?

What would you like to pay in rent?  Where are you coming from?  What's important to you?

I can't help you find something, but @Darth Biscuit and I should be able to tell you where not to go.

You're going to have to drop the "Tarheel" part of your username and become a Seahawk fan....

My fiance is starting grad school there in August and right now transportation may be an issue unless I get a lateral transfer with my job. We want to be close enough where either I wouldn't have to go out of my way to drop her off or that she can get there on the bus line or shuttle.

We're looking to stay within the $850-$900 range in rent, something like a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath. We can do a 1 bedroom if nothing else. I'm coming from Morrisville. We just need some space (I'm in a 665 square foot apartment now. It's not fun having all of our crap on top of each other) and somewhere that's liveable for now. We're looking into houses and townhomes as well but we need availability at the end of July, which is hampering our search.

Probably going to have to bump the budget up some to get something decent.

There is a decent bus line, but it's not great, Wilmington is a driving city for sure.  Parking will be an issue for her most likely.

Anything close to the college isn't all that great, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Either way it's only temporary. Gotta make sacrifices somewhere to make this work

    • Maybe, but a player can also bust for a lot of reasons.  And I'm not about to go look up the stats of all the 1st round WR busts, but I'd be surprised if they had the sustained output and success in college that T-Mac had.  Those early WR busts are usually guys who had one breakout season and then were highly drafted because of physical potential, not already built out ability. I'm not even saying T-Mac is 100% going to have a better career than Chark (although I obviously think he will). I'm just saying that right now, his skill level and ability is better than Chark's ever was, and I don't understand how anyone is arguing against that, not because of T-Mac, but because of who Chark himself was.   If you want to take the argument that you can't say ANY player who hasn't played a down yet can't be considered better than someone who has, then so be it (even though I'd say that's a dumb stance anyways). At his peak ability, Chark was more like a #3 WR than anything else, he was the definition of a league average WR.  If you don't think a Top 10 selected WR with his tape is better than that just because they haven't played in the NFL yet, then you're just stuck on the "he hasn't played a down yet" idea and can't evaluate them as players and abilities.
    • And you would've probably said the same thing about a lot of highly drafted WRs who busted.
    • dude..........   You are way to emotional here
