Surprise, surprise. Rams have to cancel 'Rams Legends' game due to poor ticket sales.

So this is a bit awkward.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you were planning on seeing the best Rams players of past and present suiting up against a team of NFL All-Stars at the Rams Legends game on Aug. 14, well, keep an eye out for that refund. Because it gone.

The Legends Game, which was ostensibly scheduled to pump up fans and symbolize a return to form for the returning franchise, has been called off due to poor ticket sales, per the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jim Thomas.

The game was originally slated to kick off at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, and included Rams greats Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Torry Holt and others.

This, of course, stands in contrast from the Rams' St. Louis leg of the Legends series. That game, hosted back in the Edward Jones Dome, drew out more than 10,000 fans in July.

Now, Rams fans will have to content themselves with Saturday's training camp scrimmage at the Los Angeles Coliseum — an event that could draw as many as 80,000 fans. Maybe.

Their owner will be begging to get out of that football poo hole in LA in about 10-15 years.

They're given hand-me-downs of shitty teams. I think that's the main reason. They've never been allowed to birth a team that they could really call theirs. No team that has played there has been first and foremost a "Los Angeles" team, born and raised there.

If the Jaguars tomorrow announced they were moving to a stadium next to my house to be the Rodeo's House Jaguars, I'd shrug and keep rooting for the Panthers. Because I couldn't care less about the Jaguars no matter where they play.

But if a team was awarded to here, was formed here, created here, named here, I would be far more likely to support them.

Nobody gives a crap about the Rams no matter where they play. If they want LA to support a team, they have to create an LA team, not transplant one of the worst teams nobody cares about and expect them to suddenly become a big success.

Poor ticket sales has nothing to do with the "team" as it is with the lack of marketing.

How many people in Los Angeles knew about this Legends game? I've heard of the game once and i get daily/weekly emails from the Rams for being a Season Ticket holder. Poor planning and execution from their marketing team.

LA needs to pay a few stars to show up at games in Rams gear, then everyone would flock to the games. It worked for the Lakers.

 

edit: Plus their best player is coaching our receivers!

1) Should have been free like our Fan Fest. Make an investment in drumming up interest

2) Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, or Torry Holt never played for the LA team, so...

It also doesn't help that LA is a very transient city, nobody in LA is actually from LA and they come to town with a rooting interest in another team.

This doesn't surprise me, the team has been gone for 22 years and guys like Faulk, Holt and Warner never played a down for an LA team so why would the fans want to pay to see a flag football game with a bunch of "legends" that were on the team when they played in another city?

      You are right--it was DC.  I remember talking to him at Belk in Albemarle one day--the Panthers were on a bye and they were (at the time) a disapointing 4-4.  I mentioned that the record was disappointing and he seemed to get a bit annoyed.  He dId not say anything.  I trying to suggest that we will get better, but I think he was pretty upset about it.  No hard feelings, but the man was simply trying to shop with his wife and this annoying jerk starts making comments about his job---I get it.  I apologized, telling him that I was trying to be supportive and not critical--he did not think it was a big deal.  I'd see him at events from time to time-he'd wave or say hi, but it was awkward for me.  Figured I would say something stupid.  Jordan was pretty popular--nothing like she seems to be now--she is holding her own in a man's world...proud of her.

      In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
