Me too there has never been a player I was more surprised to have liked once they joined the team.

For all the bad contracts, Hurney was money his last 2 drafts.  Taking Newton and Kuechly (2 of the top 10 players in the entire NFL) helped set the Panthers up for long-term success over the next 7-10 years.  And both those picks were heavily questioned when they happened.  If you're going to hate on Hurney for the contracts, you got to give him credit for Cam & Luke.

Jesus man, look at the remainder of the 2011 draft. None of those players are even in the league. We saw what this team is capable of with Cam, Luke and shitty bottom two thirds of the roster. (6-10, 7-9)
Picking high first round picks is the easiest part of a GM job.
