What would it take for Rivera and Co. to get fired after this season?

Rivera honestly cannot be dumb enough to not over rule his coordinators when the calls are obviously dog poo. He may be the worst coach I have ever seen when it comes to challenges and clock management. If he was seriously fine with running it up the gut 3 times in a row with the game on the line thinking this defense could make a stop after spending practically 3 full quarters on the field you may need to be put in an insane asylum.

that last challenge, Luke went over to the coaching staff yelling at them to challenge it..If he hadn't said anything, Rivera wouldn't have even throw the flag..

Rivera is the one in charge of personnel on defense. He left 7 starters on the bench while we stuggled to get TB off the field on 3 rd down. Inexcusable. Flat out fugging dumb! This team needs new life. Hope Jim Schwartz gets offered a contract here if we go 1-15. Rivera has lost this locker room oh how reminiscent of the John Fox era this is.

For the record Bill belichik was garbage in Detroit too. That's if anyone claims "ohhhh but Jim Schwartz was a dumpster fire in Detroit comment. Look at what his defense has done.360 degree turnaround for Philly. This team has no physicality no heart anymore. That's a head coach problem not a offensive coordinator problem. And yes Shula needs to be fired but our woes are this entire coaching staff. It's pure garbage, we just need to own up to the fact that cam and the extremely fortunate healthy panthers saved the fug out of Ron last season.

bruh.

The Panthers can lose every game from here on out by 85 points a game and Ron Rivera will be back next year. You need to rememebr who the owner is. Rivera just got an extension, Big Cat is not paying him all that money to sit on a couch and pay another coach as well. He also thinks for some reason this franchise is the Pittsburgh Steelers without the rings. As you know the Steelers don't fire coaches.

At the bare minimum Rivera has another 2 years after this one.

Would have to get rid of Gettleman first. Unless Gettleman's seat gets a little too hot to sit in, Ron isn't going anywhere. Mediocre manager, mediocre coaches, mediocre team with the exception of a few. Cam will leave Charlotte the first chance he gets. Gettleman can't build around the luxury pieces that he has. We are wasting Cam and Luke and Greg. Sucks to see it.

When JR no longer owns this team......then change will come. Until then get used to the same $hit show we have witnessed on and off for the past 20+ seasons. Keep hiring nice guys as your head coach and this will be the result after a few seasons.

Forget Rivera being fired, it is not happening. But how about the soft Charlotte media actually holds him accountable or asks him one tough question? I know they are all best buddies, and they love to joke with each other on Twitter, and all stay in their own lane because they don't want to upset each other. I mean Voth cries and bitches when a no name Twitter account tweets out general news.

There is literally no competition at all with these media memebers and there is no incentive whatsoever to hold anyone accountable. Rivera and the rest of the coaching staff constantly get a free pass. It really is sad seeing how other teams get covered compared to this. I can't even imagine the heat Tods Bowles, Ben McAdoo, or Doug Pederson would get after a Riveraesque performance like last night.

This is what I don't understand. We have tons of fans on here who have their noise up in the air and mock Jerry Jones, Daniel Snyder, Woody Johnson, and etc. They say their is a direct correlation between awful ownership and terrible and inconsistent franchisees. But at the same time they go on and on singing the praises of Jerry Richardson. They are all aware that in over 20 years this franchise has never had a back to back over .500 season, right? They are aware this franchise has had a 15-1 season and still are under .500 all time, right?

It is amazing how inconsistent franchises can be correlated with other teams, but not with the Panthers and JR. Because JR is the best owner in the whole wide world.

The turnovers, that last offensive series, how our players have lacked passion all season basically doesn't have to do with Dave.

Our Defense is basically LBs and DTs with slop around them. Not because of injury or anything like that. Dave did that.  That alone killed our season.  We can get healthy on O....the Dave finger print on our D doomed us.  Last night's O was last largely a product of injury.  Last night's D is a continuing look at Dave failure that was seen coming....and it impacts everything.

Couldn't agree more. I'd take a dick like Belichick any day if it meant we could have a winning team year in and year out. Hate the Pats all you want, but that team has been winners for what seems like forever. I honestly feel that JR really doesn't care if we win year in and year out. All the tickets are sold and he is still making money.

Gettleman and Shula need fired.  Gettleman's ego and bad decisions pretty much ruined this year before it started.  I loved everyone praising him in the off-season, happy he's being cheap and not paying market value, etc.  Well, it caught up with us.

Shula because, well Shula, and this offense should be BETTER than last year.    I think a more creative OC could do crazy things with this team.   Then again, Gettleman is still more to blame because of the offensive line Shula given.

Rivera is not the one who wanted 3 rookies in his secondary.

Rivera is not the one who wanted to tie all his outside pass rush to Ealy for the past few seasons.

Rivera has shown he does not trust many of Gettleman's guys. Now we see why. Unfortunately, Gettleman forced Rivera's hand by only giving him his rookie and crap players. Rivera has no other option. He is starting Robert McClain to keep from starting multiple rookies.

He would start Jared Allen and Peanut Tillman if they were here.

This season was Gettleman pulling his garbage of forcing the coaches hands and hurting the players who deserve to keep winning.

This is somewhat true, but Rivera is not Gettleman's boss either.  Gentleman isn't going to fire himself and if he is fired by the Big Cat (not gonna happen), then you can guarantee Rivera is 100% gone when a new GM comes in.

Either way, if Rivera wants a job, he better start winning with this roster he doesn't, as you say, "trust".

I don't feel Ron is the issue.

i think our talent is.  Dave was immediately deemed a GOAT....because he patched a few holes on Hurney's roster.  Dave hasn't done a good job big picture IMO.

Their talent level was overrated going into this season, but this team is not 1-4 bad either.   The secondary is a big weakness, but when you look at the roster top to bottom it is still one of the better one's in the league.  It's hard to think that now that they have looked so bad thus far, but it is true.  A lot of blame for this debacle lies on Rivera and his staff.  The team has been making boneheaded mistakes and penalties since the first preseason game.  This is exactly what poorly coached teams do.  Just watch TB last night.  They do the same kinds of dumb poo.
