Why I Don't Blame Ron for Our On-Field Problems

It originally said, "some of you draw conclusions like you didnt even read what was posted."

But, i thought that could be interpreted as insulting, so i removed it to avoid potential poo like this.  A for effort, i guess.

Well if that was your original intent then I apologize because that's not how it came across imo. But that is in no way insulting, you should've stuck with it.

I have been done with Ron since 2012. The guy is mediocre at best. I wonder what excuses will keep this coaching staff in tact for next season?

Can we just get a young offensive mind at the helm please? For Christ's sake we are wasting the prime of 2 once in a lifetime talents. Maybe even 3 if you count Greg.

Of all the coaches that are out there now---- if not Ron, then who?

(I have no issue with Ron, but if you're going to say he needs to go then you better have a reasonable suggestion of who's available who'll take the job. While Gruden would be fun, he ain't going to do it.)

Frank Reich.

(would have said Mike Zimmer but he's taken)

Gettleman has taken for granted the ability that Rivera and Mcdermmot have in putting together a solid defense with a couple of studs and a slew of scrap parts.  You can scheme around average corners with a dominant pass rush and you can scheme around an average pass rush with dominant corners, but when you have the worst corners in the league combined with the worst DE's in the league you end up with the disaster we have.

Great Post. Had things gone a little differently the past couple of years we could possibly have the following scenario.

Greg Hardy at RDE (He was franchised in 2014 and could have possibly had a long term deal if not for the domestic problems)

Kony Ealy at LDE (where he is much more effective)

Josh Norman at CB this year (franchised and possibly given a long term deal).

Bradberry at CB (groomed under Josh)

With Hardy and Ealy at their ideal spots, KK sees less double teams and the pass rush is better. Norman is locking down one side of the field. This may have allowed Coleman to stay at FS where he is much more effective.

If we hadn't picked 3 CB's in this years draft we could have used the 3rd and 5th round pick on other positions of need.

I'm not saying this would make us an elite defense. But, we wouldn't be giving up 500 and 400 yard passing days  on a regular basis either.

Gettleman over estimated our talent on the defensive side of the ball. Now that we know what we have (or should I say don't have?) it's going to be pretty apparent what we need to do in the off season.

I don't think Ron should take most of the blame for this.  He's got to cook with the groceries the GM gave him.

Ron gets some blame. His clock management is horrible, and he's not able to adjust very well. His players aren't disciplined at times as well. That's on coach. The players get some of the blame. Too too many turnovers, and not executing like they did last year. What we saw yesterday is why the brunt of the blame goes to Gettleman. Coaches and players simply were not given the proper or right players to succeed. Ron is doing all he can with that secondary, and is even trying to help them out by having them play off receivers to avoid them getting burned. They're still getting burned. The stars and above average players are trying to compensate for the rookies, but they can't do it. Other teams are simply exploiting the secondary. These rookies just aren't that good, and honestly, I don't think Sanchez or Worley make it in this league. Gettleman really fugged up.

I saw some fuggery yesterday..Mike Remmers is constantly offsides or doing some dumb ass sh*t where it costs us yards..but yet he stays in..

Kyle Love committed a penalty yesterday and immediately yanked out..

I said yesterday that I think Remmers got something on Rivera jokingly but its just maybe he is one of Ron's favorites..it shouldnt be that way..if you are playing poorly give someone else a chance..I know Remmers back up isn't better but still he could do the same thing that you are allowing Remmers to get away with..that's a coaching problem..

Patriots win with 2nd and 3rd string QB. Vikings win with journeyman QB and second string OL yet Ron cant win with 5 pro bowlers on his team.  Yea no way his fault at all.

Come on now snake, lets be fair here. The Vikings D is much better than ours and the Patriots coaching is levels above ours, but point main point well raised

Does DG actually think he has the Patriots coaching here? Cause he doesn't. There's no plug and play here
