See, this is the crux of the problem around here. You load up your argument with an exaggeration, then blame Gman for not addressing said problem.

 

Just maybe, Gman and Ron, thought that they could count on Bene coming back stronger, and another year better? Why should they not? He has gotten better each year, why shouldn't we count on that trend continuing? Or that McClain could provide decent depth? He was serviceable/almost good last year. Unfortunately, he has been hurt.

 

If those two had stepped up as they were counted on. We could have eased the rooks in as opposed to throwing them to the wolves.

 

Same with the DE position. CJ, and Ealy played well down the stretch last year. Why shouldn't Gman, and Ron, feel good about getting them back? Or that Delaire could take that next step? He seemed to have the talent, he just couldn't translate that to the field.

 

Things looked better before the wheels fell off. Or it did if you weren't looking for things to complain about. We feel off as a team. But a few players, here and there, made that fall easier.
