Is it time for Daryl Williams?

Yuppers. Daryl has played well the last three games. Don't let the doubter get to you. If Daryl keeps this up, all we need to do is upgrade that pesky LT position.

I'll be honest here. I was nervous that first week, but he played really well. And he has kept that up over the last two games. It does appear as though he has finally make the RT position his own. I am now finding myself begging to run to the right side behind Trai, and Daryl, instead of always going left behind Norwell and Remmers.

It is fun reading people still dogging on Daryl. It can show who actually watches, and who just parrots what they hear.

Oh I'm not dogging. I think Williams is a better option at RT now with a way higher ceiling than Remmers.

i haven't watched any tape or even any highlights this season. how is he as a pass blocker overall?

The only sack he allowed, was last week. He peeled back to help Dickson, but didn't get there in time. It looked like he may have been late with his help on that one play. Other than that, he has only allowed a couple of pressures, and has handled pass protection really well.

He is doing well in run support as well. It only takes about a half hour to fast forward through a game to just watch his plays. It is worth the look. Because you will come away pleasantly surprised.

I have been touting his play for three weeks. It has just gotten lost in the wash of all the unhappiness up in here.

People never listen to me. Wah. I understand why the wife ignores me, after all, I do tend to ramble. But dang it. On the Huddle? I am gold.

I think it should happen now. Oher and Williams could be a very solid tackle group. And now the right side of that line has some chemistry with Williams there. Not sure Williams is that much better of a pass blocker but is a better bruising run blocker. We're going to need to get Stew rolling with Oher back and possibly Williams inserted at RT so that we can play ball control and have an efficient offense while doing just enough on defense to get some wins. Still have hope for the season. The offensive line, secondary, and d-line will all be improved coming out of the bye and hopefully the team can finally just get on the same page. Too much talent for us to not make the playoffs.

It's a damn shame a team built on defense, with a defensive minded Owner, GM, and coach, sucks so bad on defense.

I think it is because most fans don't watch the line play as much as they claim they do. So they were still upset that Daryl didn't usurp Remmers earlier. They sometimes forget he was a 4th round pick. They just wanted him to take over RT before he was ready. Just to get Remmers out of there.

3 games into your 2nd season doesn't seem like that long of a time frame to be unhappy with him. Cuz right now, he is playing really well. And that makes us better. But unfortunately, with what is going on around here, folks are not mentally prepared to root for something positive like Daryl.

I would also like to add that Daryl and Trai seem to be working very well together. It's only been 3 games, but if this keeps up, that right side of the line is going to be good.

Now upgrade over Oher, and we can have a very good Oline. Hellz, even with Oher, we are pretty darn good. Just get Remmers back on the bench, and we are better.

I would say why not it can not get any worse however it seems that certain position groups on this team can always susprise you by going from bad to horrible.  Still a try out is in order for the starting job and I hope Williams gets it and keeps it for now.

Spoken like a fan that has not actually watched Daryl these last three weeks. Since he has been inserted into the starting  Oline, he has made that position his own. No try out needed. We have our RT.

Williams is doing solid, bench rim job already

I say, let Hawkins give LT a shot? Why not? Maybe he can play as well, or better, than Remmers. Remmers needs to be depth. Let Hawkins give it a go until Oher gets back. Then it should be, let the best man start.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Broncos part ways with a CB on the roster bubble Broncos get: 2026 seventh-round pick Panthers get: CB Damarri Mathis The Broncos have a rare problem among NFL teams: too many cornerbacks. ESPN's Jeff Legwold projects they could move on from Mathis, who was very good as a rookie in 2022 before losing his starting job after the defense's slow start in 2023. He played just 27 defensive snaps after Week 6 that season and 80 more across 10 games in 2024. With the Broncos using their 2025 first-round pick on cornerback Jahdae Barron, they could justify moving on from Mathis, who might not be active on game days even if he sticks around. Mathis' best season came with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero in Denver, and he hasn't been able to reach those same heights since Evero left for Carolina. The Panthers are set with Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and nickel corner Chau Smith-Wade as their three starting corners, but Mathis could push the 28-year-old Jackson and serve as Carolina's primary reserve on the outside. Mathis is owed $3.4 million in 2025, so Denver might essentially buy a draft pick by eating some of that cash, similar to what the Commanders did when they sent running back Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers.
    • They can get fuged for a 6th and 7th. Doesn't make sense for us for anything less than a 4th and them paying a majority of his salary.
