Nah. Star's always done what he's supposed to. He was drafted for what he is, someone to control the los. Days like today are icing on the cake.

i don't know why he can't do it all. i agree he should be stuffing the run, but cutting him loose as a pass rusher just increases our D's versatility and creates more pressure.

is Star can make some noise this year with a few games like this one, kk elevates his game again, and butler comes back healthy, we have 3 guys who can do it all in the middle and will leave the oline to double team both DTs. plus, imagine a Kony-Star-Butler-KK package. just nasty!

I think people put to much emphasis on sacks for dt's. DT's getting sacks are nice, even great. But Sacks are not the primary indicator of how well a DT is playing. Short and Starr both had great games today, and it showed in how we shut the Az run game down, at least until later in the game when we started focusing more on pass defense. And in how we kept collapsing the pocket.

Result of more attention paid to KK? Star is a mainstay that helps other guys. When those guys blow up, we see Star's true value.

Could be. I know I always see Star get doubled and he does well most of the time. I've always felt he's our best DT. Doesn't get credit because of lack of sacks. I think Igo posted double team numbers for a couple games and star was doubled twice as much as KK.

    • Not many people talking about DT, but we have a need.  (DE)  Now this guy is a NT like Brown III
    • But is it about letting Bryce develop or about winning games? Bryce has not been good enough to be an uncontested starter. He just hasn't. How many times has last drive Bryce shown up for 4 entire quarters? Once in 3 seasons? You aren't going to win 9 or 10 one score games every season year in and year out. You may want Bryce in the last 2 minutes. I want that Bryce the full 60.  No one is saying you have to give up on him, but bringing in another QB that can do anything is not hindering Bryce. It helps the team and that's where the focus needs to be. If drafting Sadiq to plague the middle of the field would help out offense, but Bryce struggles to get pass into the middle of the field, is Sadiq a bad pick? Or could he be a good pick with a better option at QB? We can't be afraid to improve. QB, TE, OL, LB, DL, CB, S. It doesn't matter. The goal is SBs, not 5 to 8 years seeing waiting to see if Bryce can develop while the rest of the league keeps passing us by.  Sadiq is a nice option, but I think we have to address tackle if one we like is there because we are painfully thin after this year, a LB to general the field, and a true ball hawking safety that can set the tone in the secondary. Those 3 positions are bigger game changers than a TE that will likely struggle to make a round 1 impact in this offense.
    • Lil Stanky 100% in the dot tonight... And our 2nd line has been our best offensive line this season. Maybe our 2C really was on the roster this whole time...?
