Florio: League Believes There Have Only Been 3 Missed Roughing The Passer Calls On Cam Over The Last Few Years

This right here is why Rivera has stopped complaining.  They've done their league inquiry stuff, and have the league's decision.  No use in a head coach and a QB continuing to beat a drum that the NFL is just not listening to; it'd probably do more bad than good re: ref bias next game.

Idea is that everything evens out, or it gets obviously worse and the media (CO? ha!) blow it up.  Either way you swing it, Cam is treated the way he is treated.  Play through, I guess.

The fix is in.  I wonder how long will Cam play now. It is pretty given he is not going to get calls and they will allow any type of hit on him...Most players are not going to play within the rules unless they are force to. The league knows this and allowing it on Cam only..The league knows that they are wrong...when Cam is out of the league I hope is documenting and saving video tape to sue the hell out of the league..Especially if he gets hurt due to an illegal hit.

2 broncos were fined week 1 for hits.

Campbell will be fined for his hit on Sunday.

that right there is 3 hits players will be fined for this year on NON calls.    They are also blatant and nasty ones.

Difference is when they look at Brees and someone hits his head they count that as a missed roughing the passer.  Cam gets those and they view that as football.  That makes their tally a joke and a PR move (which they are going to push HARD)

Denver game week 1....they would have claimed they missed more calls if the QB had not been Cam.  Makes their tally whack.

Why you telling Florio to suck it? He's just the messanger here.

All of these "messengers" can suck it. Bunch of little robots going on every show, on every channel, and pushing the leagues narrative and feeding the circle jerk.

In general he is very critical of the league.

Last season we were like dead last in roughing the passer calls, and it looks to end up the same again this year.

Whatever numbers these analysts calling Cam out are throwing around only take into account his first few seasons in the league.

you think a league that's so concerned with "player safety" that they covered up the devastating effects of concussions multiple times, forces addictive painkillers on its players, and penalizes non-addictive natural remedies like MMJ is gonna admit that they are letting one of the faces of the league get brutalized out on the field? lol

    • yeah, now it's going to get awkward.  The team circles pay attention to all this stuff.  All the wives and girlfriends see the posts.  They all talk like everyone.  Football is just a normal world outside of the fact they play a game for lots of money.  Gossip travels. They know the Theilen's want out at this point.  Carolina is now the disappointed failed trade location.    So now AT takes sort of an inhouse hit in Carolina IMO
    • Ummm... The dude looked like he was about 180 pounds soaking wet with us (I don't care what his listed weight was/is) - he would have been destroyed in the run game even more than our current and past crappy ILBs. The problem is we primarily play 3-4 or nickel/dime - there is little room on the field for him because he isnt an edge LB blitzer and he can't cover for crap. The only thing he can do kind of well is be an in-the-box safety that can try and beat blockers to the spot because of his athleticism. Washington was able to make him work last year because they used him solely as an in-the-box safety and almost exclusively ran a single high FS. The funny thing is they had good yards/game stats against the pass despite most of their secondary having embarrassingly low PFF grades. Washington was also terrible against the run, which might explain why they gave up so few yards passing.
    • Just get the deal done. We've teased it so much that the Thielen's expect it. Now we run the risk of our veteran WR locker room presence becoming disgruntled. Just take what we can get, make him happy, and get future assets while freeing up snaps for guys who will be here beyond this season.
