I think the Rams mostly run 11 personnel with Tavon Austin in the slot so I doubt we see much of AJ Klein anyway and Shaq wouldn't have seen many snaps either. Putting a LB on Tavon is just asking for trouble. Good news is the thing that impressed me the most about Leonard Johnson was his ability in run support which will be huge against Gurley.

The Rams aren't built to play us well. We have the third-best run defense in the league and Gurley just hasn't gotten anything going. They don't really have a deep threat, either so they can't exploit our corners as much - Brian Quick has had a few longer touchdowns but that's about it. Austin is a gadget player. Britt is decent but not an issue to stop. Keenum is garbage.

The big issue will be if our offense can do anything. They can get a good pass rush going. If we can beat them at the line of scrimmage in the run game it will give us a good shot to win.

Their threat is if they can get a run game going. to me that is the key....making sure they cannot run. that is a reasonable thing to expect for us to do. however, if they can run they can be a threat.  

 

It seems the run is key to both teams in this match up.

Seems like he's out indefinitely after last week's setback. Hope it's just a couple more games or less.

Once again this shows why we need AJ here...great depth to which you really won't see a downgrade in performance in the LB position.
