I'm convinced Mike Shula actually cares about individual statistics at times.

Anytime we develop any rhythm in the passing game, we try to "get Stewy his touches"

Anytime we get any momentum on the ground we start running Cam or throwing stupid passes to guys at the bottom of the depth chart.

Its not that hard dude. Just stick with what's working.

Ron Rivera and his 1970's offense, ladies and gentlemen.

Hell, as far as Ron is concerned, the above makes today a WIN!

Let's not disrespect the 70s now...back then they could actually run the ball yo....:(

Uhh...without their QB accounting for 65% of the rushing yards....goodness.

This is true. I find myself wondering every week why Shula will all of a sudden stop doing what has been working. I do not and probably won't ever understand that. I also won't ever understand why he won't ADJUST when things don't work.

Remember the palpable apathy when Fox entered his lame duck season, it felt like no one cared inside or outside of the organization, there was no energy, and it was clear the marriage had run its course?

Deja vu.

Sad thing is I think that will happen next season. I can see us sticking with Rivera just because.

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
