overall I agree with the theme. people love looking smart and Ted Ginn doing well makes us look good.

But I've got to mention that he had a pretty damn good year last year, and for some reason Cam just loves speedsters. He and Deshean Jackson instantly clicked at the Pro-Bowl

Panthers are having an identity crisis, because our offense is so inconsistent outside of Olsen.

Honestly, we should sign Desean Jackson in the offseason

He's not the focal point. He is literally the only receiver that can get any separation.

Funchess and Benjamin literally wear their defenders like capes for 95% of the game.

KBs rookie year, I thought he could learn and get separation the longer the season goes. He didn't and I just thought nothing of it. Now this year, the same thing. He is never beating his man or getting any separation at all. Most of his catches are slants and posts where he bodies the DB. That's fine, but it can only work so long. Funchess to me, is the better route runner and I feel like we should feed him more. I love KB, but I am disappointed a lot with him. Not that my opinion matters on him. We need to figure out how to get him the ball besides slants and posts. Like I said, that's great it works, but today we saw it doesn't work every time.

Fwiw, I don't really care if KB gets separation.  He doesn't really need it. There are few inn the league better at making catches with defenders on him.   Funchess does, and I thought he did a slightly better job today than he has in the past.  Still not great though.  Overall though, our receivers are good.  Not great, not terrible, but good.  With the potential to get better.  We do need more speed though as Ginn is getting older.

Where is this sudden fetish to attack Ted Ginn coming from? I get the punt return criticism - but as a receiver, he's been extremely reliable this year. He's our best wide receiver in terms of catch percentage, and is our best sideline target. He's routinely catching balls down the field along the sideline, and they aren't easy catches.

Ginn is a FA at the end of the year so this should end with this horrible season.

Incidentally, the reason the Panthers extended Delhomme was a desperate grab for cap space. Marty Hurney franchise tagged Julius Peppers who would not sign his contract nor negotiate a new contract so there was no cap money. As ridiculous as the extension was this was Hurney's solution. Incredibly he repeated the same mistake the next year. The firings should have gone as high as the General Manager at that point, but we all suffered for many more years before Hurney was finally shown the door.
