2014 was not a good season just because we back doored into the playoffs in a trash ass division. You can't polish a turd.

We made the playoffs in a crap year for the NFC. That's taking care of business if you like it or not.

This year we went into this season unprepared and we will be sitting home for it. That's all on Dave because you can't cheap out on both offense and defense and expect to win. Hell we wouldn't have had a punter if we didn't get lucky .

If this franchise wants to be in the business of celebrating 7 win seasons that's a big problem.

Stop being butt hurt. Most teams that year didn't see 7 wins. We also overachieved last year with 15 wins. More wins than we ever had in a season .

We went 15-1 and made the Super Bowl....

Then Dave has a horrible offseason

....and people talking about Rivera when the holes that slap you in in face where visible before the first game of the season.

I don't care if you want to scream that Ron or Shula or Cam should be fired but the first breath out of your mouth needs to be Dave

We won a playoff game and were in the game the entire time against the defending Super Bowl champs and eventual NFC champs in their home stadium in the next playoff game. I'd say that was a good season. A couple more bounces our way that game and a win against the Packers and it would've been us against the Patriots. Should Giants fans not have been celebrating their 9-7 season in 2011?

We won the playoff game because Ryan Lindley is the worst qb in NFL history to ever start a playoff game. Cam masks the amazingly huge deficiencies of this coaching staff.

Name one good coach with a franchise QB that finished the season with a 4-12 record (which is possible).

Gettleman didn't do the best job, but the flaws in this team ie. second half collapses have been a problem since Rivera came into town.  It's more than just talent.

Guess I would need an approved list of who qualifies as a franchise QB and when in their career they qualified

Will only a 4-12 season qualify or can we also include a range from 4-12 to 6-10? Because really what is the difference?

Phillip Rivers and the Chargers went 4-12 in 2015, Eli Manning and Giants 6-10 in 2015 and 2014.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
