Cold dose of reality.. It will take a miracle for the Panthers to make the playoffs this year...

What's the offense stats for 2nd half? How many 3 and outs do they have? The offense does the defense 0 favors with no adjustments and no sustaining drives

Our defense spends the entire half on the field cuz our offense can't sustain drives. But let's bitch about the defense

10-6 and we are likely division champs, and if not, we would be a wildcard.  9-7 gives us an outside shot at a wildcard (and back to back winning seasons for the first time in our history).

But at this point, 8-8 or 7-9 is probably where we finish.  A split with Seattle/Oakland would be very good for us, but then we would have to win our last four (unlikely).

All I want (all I've been able to hope for since losing to the saints) is a winning season to go back-to-back for the first time.

If we can't get Luke, Kalil, Oher or Addison back soon that's impossible.

Getting 2 of those 4 (and L. Johnson) back soon might make it possible, but it will be hard.

Last Thursday's game may have been a win, but in my opinion the injuries made it a pyrrhic victory.

The Panthers offense ranks 9th in average plays per drive in the 4th quarter.

The Panthers offense ranks 4th in drives with 3 or more first downs in the 2nd half.

I guess you want them to be #1 before you blame the defense?

The Panthers defense ranks 26th in average plays per drive allowed in the 4th quarter.

The defense ranks 30th in giving up 3 or more first downs during a drive in the 2nd half.

The defense ranks 25th in producing takeaways in the 4th quarter.

The offense is not responsible for the defense not stopping drives and giving up first downs while not being able to produce takeaways.

For comparison:

The 2015 defense ranked 17th in average play per drive allowed in the 4th quarter.

The 2015 defense ranked 3rd in giving up 3 or more first downs during a drive in the 2nd half.

The 2015 defense ranked 4th in producing takeaways in the 4th quarter.

Defense wins championships and defense wins games by defending a lead in the 2nd half. The Broncos, Vikings, Bucs, and Chiefs all had the better 2nd half defense. The Falcons and Saints had the better defense all game long.

That is the big difference from 2015 to 2016.

Stop blaming the offense for not holding a lead and allowing the opposing team to convert 1st downs and score consistently with the game on the line all season. The Panthers offense ranks 12th in the NFL for scoring drives in the 2nd half. The Panthers defense ranks 31st for scoring drives allowed in the 2nd half.

Please, tell me you are not blaming the Panthers offense for not being in the top 10 of 2nd half scoring offense while duplicating the record setting performance they had last season in scoring. Meanwhile, you blame the offense for making the Panthers defense the worst scoring defense in the NFL in the 2nd half?

It is obvious the defense is the problem.
