Found it.

Ron Rivera on starting two rookie CBs: "There was a team a few years ago that started three DBs that were all rookies and they won the Super Bowl"

Knew that sounded familiar. Turns out it wasn't really that tough to find, either.  Searched for mentions of Ronnie Lott, and right there it was.

Rivera brought up the comparison in an interview back in August, but here CPK presents it as if it's his original idea.

No sourcing.  No referencing Rivera's statements.  No mention that the idea was previously discussed on this forum.  Nothing.  It's presented as if he just suddenly came up with this insight all on his own.

So again - as we already knew - CPK is a fraud.

Dang man, I I watched the vid, then read the thread. Rivera says "Another team did it a few years ago with three rookies in the DBs" or something to that effect. Doesn't actually say which team. Other posters ask, "wonder who it was, it wasn't recent" and CPanther comes in and explains it was the 49ers with Ronnie Lott. And now he comes back and references the same situation here.

Umm, that's not plagiarism or anything of the sort in the least. Sorry. If anything, it shows consistency. And if each of us had to come up with something to say about football or the Panthers that had never, ever been mentioned by a coach, manager, writer, broadcaster or loud guy at a bar said -- then there wouldn't be a hell of a lot to say around here.

CPanther has exhibitied some puffery at times, and has been antagonistic, too. But he hasn't stolen work wholecloth as you've alleged.

Once again, I don't agree with Cpanther's premise in this argument, but dang, I can't just let the guy be accused of plagiarism here. The initial kernel of the idea isn't original, but if that were a crime, then you, I and anyone else who expounds upon this sport would have been pilloried long ago.

Really, Mr. Scott, you're better than this. Really, you are. I really respected your opinion and looked forward to reading what you've posted. I hope you can regain that respect again.

I'm not sure you read the thread that closely, as it was Kuechly the Sneak who actually explained that it was the 49ers Rivera was referencing. CPK just used that as a jumping off point.

It's not a problem to mention something that was said by someone else, if you actually acknowledge that you're quoting someone else. When you present it as if it were your own original thought, that's plagiarism.

The fact that CPK posted several times in that thread only to now come back and act as if it were a new idea shows (again) how full of s--t he is. And as mentioned, this is far from his first dishonesty.

Go back and read the prior post where he listed direct quotes without reference and lied about their context, their intent and even their authorship. You want to tell me he just happened to find a quote from Scott Simonson talking about himself and just accidentally attributed it to Ron Rivera talking about Kony Ealy (oh, and also just happened to forget to link the source)?

Uh huh...Sure.

He's a troll, and as such is just as worthless as Fat Ass Alice.

I'm just going to step out of this one. It's obvious you two have a history and while I am, and originally was, just referring to one post, made in this thread, you want me to invest in that running battle. Sorry, I don't have the time, inclination, or even interest. I apparently walked between the streams of a pissing contest.

You guys feel free to shake 'em off and zip 'em up when you've finished. There's pro football on TV tomorrow and that's all I'm interested in.

Your not including 2013 right? He was benched for a portion of 2014.

So he had exactly one good year, and almost all of his picks came in the first 4 games.

Norman is overrated. Imagine how bad GMAN would be taking it if we would have resigned Norman and we still sucked.

We wouldn't suck...no imagining needed...

Tell ya what. Take a look back at the post linked before (here) where he posted a bunch of supposed Rivera quotes, and the breakdown just a few posts after.

If you can make a convincing argument showing that post is just a different viewpoint rather than an attempt at deliberate deception, I'll happily apologize.

But if it looks like he's lying, what does that say?

Mr Scott will argue day and night with the trolls and then tell anyone else who responds to that person they shouldn't waste time arguing with the trolls.

KK is super replaceable. Norman was not. Gettleman's brain is backwards, so he'll probably pay KK.

Norman was replaceable...If it was just Norman. Bradberry has been really good. Safeties have been bad. Pass rush has been bad. But I agree. I would not resign KK to a big money deal.

Unless his presence would have kept the offensive line from being decimated by injuries and unless he could play safety too we  would still suck. we may have won another game early in the season but we are completely fuged by injuries this year

    • I see they blamed Slavin for the goal like I did.
    • See this is the problem, you say "can't get off the line quick" and "can't separate quick" but in reality it's "he can get off the line better and create more separation" which are two completely different things. If he couldn't get off the line or separate, he wouldn't have put up the numbers he did and end up a Top 10 pick. But he can get better, and maybe more accurately, consistent with them both, and that will take his game to the next level.  These are things that are also much easier to improve once you get to the NFL than things like being a poor route runner or having bad hands, two of his strengths. Thinking he can't get open in the short passing game also shows you haven't watched enough tape on him, as he was used in that role so much in college with little issue getting open and making plays. And him not using his physicality as much isn't even something that hurts his game because he's so much more agile than a player of his size should be, which he used to his advantage.  Instead of throwing passes where he'd go up and box out a player like a TE or Mike Evans does, they use his athleticism and put the ball in places that only he can get to it, and he usually does (and yes, he'll still be able to do that against NFL DB's with his catch radius). But now that he's in the NFL, I'd like to see him get stronger and add that to his game because it also will help him take his game to another level. As I've said before, if he doesn't improve on those things at all, I think he's a Top 25 WR in this league, he's already that good.  But I think he'll improve on those things and be a perennial Top 10 WR and in his prime is considered and perform like Top 5 guy in some years. My expectations for him this year at 800 yards and 8 TDs (although I do think he'll get to 10 TDs) with a real chance at getting to 1,000.  But those expectations are because I think Thielen will lead the team in yards with close to 1k and XL/Coker each end up in the 500-600 range themselves, just too many mouths to feed this year for a rookie to dominate yardage, especially if we're running the ball well again. But if Thielen can't stay healthy or puts up sub 750 yards, then yea, my expectations for T-Mac likely shift to getting to 1k as a rookie.
    • Svech only 1 goal behind the guy they've pretty much already given the Conn Smythe to...
