Apparently Randy Moss threw out an invite to help out the team (not sure in what capacity). Looks like it was declined.

The Carolina Panthers seem to be in a bit of a spiral downward this season. After finishing 15-1 in 2015 en route to a Super Bowl appearance, a 4-8 record in 2016 isn’t what anyone expected. The losses would be bad enough, but as they pile on, other nasty things are finding their way out of the cupboards as well.

Take for instance franchise quarterback Cam Newton sitting over not wearing a tie when the team traveled. That sparked immediate outrage and conspiracy theories abound. Now retired wide receiver turned analyst Randy Moss is making some news of his own.

Randy Moss on MNF: "I live in Charlotte ... We want the Carolina Panthers to get back on track. Whatever it takes."

Moss threw out a really great sentiment for Carolina that could have been turned into quite the motivation. Moss, known for being a bit of a prima dona during his playing days does have a certain fire to him that helped set him apart from others. That fire could in turn be used to get the Panthers out of their funk.

According to Moss though, Carolina turned down Moss’ advances.

@LibbyWeihsmann ive sent the invite and thts wht frustrating!#egos

Arrogant as hell. Despite Moss' diva reputation, coaches have raved about his football intelligence. Plus, when you're a young player and a guy like Randy fuging Moss is willing to come try to teach you a thing or two you fuging listen.

KB has regressed this year. Funchess hasn't improved. What's it gonna hurt to let Randy fuging Moss talk to these guys? Afraid you're gonna hurt Ricky Proehl's feelings or something?

I bet even Ricky would've welcomed this. He would've been a service to at least the WRs.

If he's offering to help the WR's, then yea, we could use his help. KB still can't run or finish a route to save his life, and Funchess definitely needs the help.

Randy Moss was a terrible route runner, don't really want him teaching anyone how to run a route. Now if he can teach someone to be 6'4 and run a 4.2 in pads then I'm all for his help.

Lol, what?  Randy Miss is one of the best receivers of all time.  I'm sorry, I think he ran routes just fine.  Jesus.

Randy Moss ran like one route for the majority of his career, the streak and it worked because he was an absolute freak of fuging nature. If he had even half of the technical route running ability of a guy like Jerry Rice he would have shattered every damn receiving record by such a large margin they would have renamed the position after him. The dude coasted on his natural ability for a huge chunk of his career.

    • This season only ends one way... We win this Sunday. Bryce is decent. We take back 1st place...   Only to then get our brakes blown off in the last two weeks.
    • Here's one of the most maddening things, that will be shown in full light over the next three weeks. The same people around here that called Darnold a bum and Mayfield a washed up over draft are also the ones saying Bryce is a catastrophe. Yeah, and I've been one who said Bryce wasn't big enough, brave enough or capable enough. I said back in the day that Darnold had a lot of fight in him and got shouted down. And on Mayfield, heck I didn't know, I just knew we had a very, very bad team that was run terribly. But I saw both of those guys go out there and resurrect their careers and be play-off bound since shaking the Carolina clay dust off their cleats. And we sat there and cat called their cars as they pulled out of the parking lot, laughing at what nobodies they were. Over the next three weeks, those two guys may just serve us sh!t sandwiches and then settle down to their just desserts. And then we'll probably let Bryce go off into the realm of other teams. And when that happens, will we see him coming back, better than before and we're left to re-sit this cycle all over again? Same naysayers, same results, same revolving carousel of ponies and pundits?  Will we end up looking like the Temu version of the San Diego Chargers back in the day watching Drew Brees come to fruition in the previously moribund Superdome while we whiff on a Manning pick just to be jilted for Phillip "Always a Bridesmaid" Rivers?
