Who gives a fug if they're playing better now that we're out of contention and just FYI we've been falling in that category not rising.

They're only playing for us this season?

Crap! I could have sworn they'd still be here for a few more years.

And here I was excited about their Improvement...

It does irk me that we never got to see what this year's team could've been. Some of our wounds are self inflicted, obviously, but you always hope that the nucleus of your team in September is still playing in December.

My hope is that we can rest up better this offseason and start upgrading because we certainly will have the cap space to do so. That's an advantage not everyone has.

KB is on pace for 941 yards and 6 TDs

He isn't a bust but he is a disappointment in the fact he simply doesn't appear to have the skill set to be a legit #1 WR.

I just knew someone was going to call this. I know he may wind up short of 1,000. But c'mon man, that is close enough. And who knows, he still may make it.

So we are disappointed in him? Who knew. He is basically a 2nd year player. Let's give him that third year before we become disenfranchised from him. When folks like a player they give them 3 years. When folks are not happy with a player, they have no patience.

Ah the life of a fan. Crazy huh?

@iamhubby1, I generally agree with your sentiment, and that's why I finished off your pie. The only "issue" I have with it, is that it has a decidedly positive slant which almost---almost---makes you sound like an apologist. I really do believe this team can and will improve, but I see this season as a wake-up call. We are at a crossroads, and can still go two ways. Do I think Dave, Ron and company will take us down the path to prosperity? Yes I do! But, beginning with Dave and the offseason, they are going to have to really step up and show it.

Well, I did say that there were still some good things going on up in here. Just trying to lighten the load for some folks. Seems like the vibe around here is decidedly off.

I also agree with mistakes having been made.  I just chose to believe things are looking good for the future. Lots of money, decent draft position, a solid core, and two Goats. What's not to like?

We currently have the 30th ranked passing defense. Damn those rookies are good

Come on man..  Don't be dumb.  That's some stupid poo CPK would say. Anyone can clearly see that they're playing better which bodes well for next season and beyond

I really don't care about rankings. When Bradberry, and Worley are on the field together. Our pass D is pretty good. Just because this year has been frustrating. It shouldn't take away from how well the kids are playing at the moment.

Also, we do have other DBs that play. Why do you seem to want to only call them out?

Dammit, Hub!  This thread was going so well, and then you had to invoke that image.

Sometimes my hands have a mind of their own. I just can't remember where I first heard it.

The joke goes "There are two things in this world I can't stand. Yada yada yada, and guest hosts on Johnny Carson." I just don't remember who said it.

I don't see this "they" stuff

I see the potential in Bradberry, I don't see it in Worley, and Zach is garbage. 2 wasted picks I see in my opinion.

Thanks for your input. I, and many others on here, disagree. Worley is improving and two out of the 3 looking like actual NFL corners is pretty damn good

But that's the problem with this team, y'all fall for it every year. Its always next year next year. What you guys are basically saying is that you're ok sacrificing a year after a super bowl appearance and that poo is unacceptable to me. Yea good they're playing better, but that doesn't excuse the fact we've gone from 6th in passing D to fugin 30th. It's the reason we've never had back to back winning seasons this poo right here. So yea we'll be better next year then what?

Because there's no better way to tell how good players are at this moment than checking stats and rankings that have been measured over an entire season, right?

Unless of course there was some way that you could actually watch them in recent games and judge how they were performing right now as opposed to, say, their first game as a rookie.

If only that were possible...

Ah those pesky stats. Those "I'll tell you what you want, and I'll never lie to you." pieces of information.

I will say this for stats. If you can make them sing, they do make beautiful music.

So you are willing to admit that is our standing that has you frustrated, not the actual play by the kids? And you are still alive, right? No limbs fell off? Good for you.

I know this year is/was a waste win lose wise. But one bright spot is the growth of Bradberry, and Worley. And let us not forget Johnson, as he has played very well in the slot. Good times.

    • Yea, its a awful year for COY there's like 5 coaches Id as a  non-panther fan say are more worthy than Dave. Ben Johnson is doing similar to Dave by taking a yearly loser into a winner, but da bears are what 9-10 wins right now. Liam Coen has the fuging jags at 9-4 with similar talent as Panthers, I mean they drafted before them this pass year and had nearly zero from a guy they traded up for @#2 hunter.  ugh....Sean Payton&vance has the broncos as the current #1 seed in the AFC..... you know the broncos before the year starts you have the chiefs with mahomes&reid and chargers with herbo&harbs. No one had broncos winning there nor as a the #1 overall seed.  Mike Macdonald has the Seahawks at 10-3 compare that to Panthers 7-6, they are in a blood bath against Rams and 49ers.....shanny has half the team on IR with a 9-4 record.  Chargers are 9-4 with no OL or RB and not much on D.  I have even put colts above Dave and the Panthers, if not for Danny injury...they were on the way and playing great. Just soooooooooooo many HC deserving this year and still more games, but Dave has over played this year for sure. I had them at a firm 2 win team, with 4 being the maybe and 7?!?!?!? being the everything goes right. 7 wins is possible given the shitty NFC south.
    • He did everything right but catch the ball. Kept his hands out in front, palms away from his body, watched it in, and then dropped the dam ball! Text book up until he dropped it.
    • Just try to enjoy it for what it is. I don't need to convince myself that Young is good. He isn't. If this team makes the playoffs with the cinder block of Young dragging them down all season, even better.  But, some crucial things still need to happen, and being close, and moral victories, and at-least-they-tried isn't good enough.
