Panthers need a serious fullback if they want a serious run game.

Makes me sick seeing this then watching Tolberts pitiful attempt of a block out there.

Bring back Lee Ward............and some other guy to compete

The Panthers have always used Tolbert more like a big runningback than a true fullback.

Not really. There are plenty of plays every game in the i-formation where tolbert is a traditional blocking fullback, albeit a bad one.

On a few plays, yeah. Overall I haven't seen him used as a sledgehammer blocker.

Granted that could be because he isn't one (even at his best).

Seeing this then going back and seeing the thread where he showed Tolbert absolutely Whiffs a block in pass protection just sums up our season vs ATL's

Some versions of the Coryell offense prefer an h-back (hybrid FB-TE) type over the traditional bulldozer blocker.

We seem to favor that approach. That's why you sometimes see Greg Olsen in the backfield.

If we keep Tolbert after this season that will confirm some thoughts that I have about this team that I don't want to believe.

Yup.

Where Tolbert came from...Moose Johnston....etc.
