KK: Tag and Trade

Gman better not be stupid enough to pull a Josh Norman 2.0. There's a team out there that would be willing to give up a 2nd round for him.

That said team would also have to be willing to pay his asking price of around 18 mil a year so...

if it's clear that the panthers aren't going to reach a long term deal with him and it's also apparent that we're going to let him walk after his tagged year is over then what incentive is there to throw picks at us.

some team might be willing to do that but they're also not going to ship off a draft pick for a possible one year rental.  there would have to basically be an extension in place on the team where he'd be landing which also means that KK would have to want to go there.  it's more complicated than tag player => ship to browns or jaguars or other cellar dweller => collect picks.

There were about 5 teams including the Redskins that were willing to pay Norman asking price.

I just can't see us letting 2 all pros go in consecutive season. I bet we sign him to what Cox got.
