The Chargers have requested permission to interview Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott for their vacant head coaching position, USA Today reported on Tuesday.

The Bills also plan to interview McDermott, who last year interviewed with the Browns and Buccaneers

There is a huge difference between a DC and head coach. Ask Rivera about that. He is a good DC but it isn't clear he would be a good HC.  Let's see what happens. It seems most guys who get head coach gigs have detailed plans about how to turn the team around. I wonder if the fact he coached for  Rivera and Rivera was the Chargers DC the last time they were great had anything to do with the Chargers decision.

    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
    • At least we have Mike Kay and his little buddy sidekick whoever to put you to sleep when suffering from insomnia. They're all useless unfortunately.
