He already looks like a HC in that vid.

Not trying to get ahead of anything...haha. I know he was a DB coach last week and is now a DC, but man... he knows how to get players to listen and knows his craft.

Hell, after watching that - I want to suit up and go play for him.

amazing. The only thing that worries me is he'll be taking a head coaching gig in the near distant future. my only hopes are he'll replace rivera when his contract is up.

Well since he's had interviews and he you know went to school in North Carolina I think the goal would be the head coach of the Carolina Panthers I think that is his goal or at least that's what he wanted he wanted to be here

When he was telling the DBs to put on pressure because all the other team was doing was quick passes, I can only imagine the DBs being like "nah don't feel like it" cause we didn't stop anyone going for short passes all year.

Yeah I'll be shocked if he's not a head coach within 5 years.  He just has that thing about him.

Just saw the Press Conference. He's a very football savvy coach. What really stuck out to me the most was how he is inclined to know the players on a personal level. When i played football, I had two coaches. I played my heart out for one and the other not so much. The one I gave my all was the guy that knew my full name, story, and family. It's an important element.

Most times HCs are often big picture guys who are in charge of organization and managing all the pieces. They tend to be people persons and know how to manage personalities and get folks to work together. Wilks may do that very well but what you are seeing on that video is not a HC kind of guy. That is a position coach who intimately knows his people and is great at motivation and teaching fundamentals. Again not saying that Wilkes wouldn't be a head coach but from what was shown, it would be hard to determine how he would do as a HC. The skill sets from HC to position coach or even DC are really different.
