I don't think he was considered a cap genius. I think he showed an ability to manage it in its earlier years from an accounting standpoint. When he was faced with making decisions regarding people he personally came to like he didn't do the correct things.

I'll tell you this about Hurney...he's got brass balls and has remained loyal to the Panthers. 

His time as GM did run its course...but he's the only active GM I've seen that did radio shows (back when there was still Primetime with the Pacman) and took questions from the fans.

Whether he's a good fit or not I'm not sure...but I've always respected him for that.

Of what I know of him and my first reaction to him is that he is a great guy. When he cried when he released Jake it showed that. He's too nice to always be affective. I like the man but he dropped the ball after a strong start here.

While Hurney did some good, overall I view him as a bad GM. From what people say, he seemed to be a very good guy, though. I feel the exact way about our owner. Both are said to be good guys, and have done some good things for the football team, but they're both just not very good in their respective positions.

      Yeah well I was agaisnt Hurney coming back and then helping hire Rhule but it happened anyways. Tepper has made it so bad and it's still ongoing currently.

      Yeah, that "Me against the world" mentality can work....when you are right and know what you are doing. But if you don't know what you are doing and can't accept that you need to learn, that is an impossible hill to climb.

      I can’t argue too hard with established track records. Just hope because it has happened before.   I think it takes massive and embarrassing failure. It isn’t hard to conceptualize the general truism that success in one field does not guarantee success in another. I have had to experience that in my the hard way before, dealing with a self made millionaire friend.  Getting them to understand that is very difficult. I had to part ways to escape it 30 years later, he still hasn’t learned. But he isn’t my problem anymore….  Tepper cannot be excised so easily.
